Very deep, Landry , Devonta Parker, Kenny Stills,Jakeem Grant , Leonte Caroo are the 5 on the 53 man roster
Yes, there WR corps is deep as well as their roster in general. Tanny has quietly been doing a good job
Austin Carr went to the Saints. Former Jets who were cut, Jeremy Kerley, Leger Douzable, Braedon Bowman, Matt Simms, Dwight Lowery, Brandon Wilds, Josh Mauga, Jeff Cumberland, Chris Pantale, and Ik Enemkpali.
It is not true that Leggett doesn't block. That was the rep he got from draft scouts, but it was reported from TC, that he was working hard on his blocking, was aggressive, and improving. According to what I read today, Tomlinson has a foot injury, so I'm not sure that he was available. I agree that Tye will last. He's too good not to. I think the TEs this year will be ASJ, Tye and Leggett. Vander Laan will either go on IR or to the PS. I wonder if Firkser will go to the PS. He must not be able to block as well as Howsare. Since he could play TE and is supposedly a pretty good receiver, I was a little surprised that he was cut and Howsare kept.
Their roster isn't very deep at most positions and Tannys doing Tanny. They shopped Landry this off-season and will loose him in the off season due to Tannys back loaded contracts. All to familiar to Jet Fans
We'll see how ASJ develops. He has a TON of talent. I think he has the potential to be every bit as good as any of those TEs you mentioned, except maybe Olsen. Olsen is a great receiver. With ASJ's size, he should be a better blocker than Olsen. In terms of best in the league being a stretch, who has a deeper TE corps? Do each of those guys you mentioned above have 2 solid TEs behind them? Even if Leggett doesn't develop, which I think he will and will be very good, Tye is good and so is Gragg. The Jets could keep 4 TEs next year, but even if they keep only 3, I think they could have one of the best TE corps in the NFL, especially if the offense utilizes them properly.
Landry would be perfect in our offense, and we need a punt returner......just sayin Make it happen Tanny!
We should sign Enemkpali just in case any of our QBs start to play well..... Can't let them cost us that #1 pick!!!
Wow, Freddie Bishop was cut? Did they add another OLB? What do you think of the OT Adams? The Jets were running him with the 1st string a lot early in camp. Do you think he's worth a spot on the PS?
what a prick! I say we promote him to our 53 just to fck with him. you don't get away from this disaster that fast!
For all those who were unhappy when we traded Ronald Martin (S) to the Colts for LS Hennessey, Martin is now on waivers, and the Jets can get him back.
S Ronald Martin is available We should bring him back to complete the Long Snapper heist of '17 Mac is playing chess...
I want them to address the OL, but the thing is, I'm not sure that anyone was cut who could really help our OL. Kony Ealy is a GOOD player and should help our pass rush. Adding Ealy, also enabled the Jets to trade Richardson. If we hadn't been able to add Ealy, we may still have Richardson. Hang in there, my friend!
yeah i was surprised too. OLB Edmund Robinson was one of the waiver claims from Minnesota I just figured they'd move Mauldin to IR. maybe they'll still do that also, as we have 5 OLB's right now.
Robinson has mostly played only STs for Minny. Do you think he becomes a backup here? I know nothing about him, but it would at least seem to be surprising since he rarely saw any time on defense with Minny. It looks like Josh Martin and Jenkins will be starting at OLB. Will Dylan Donohue be the primary backup? He has no NFL experience and is pretty raw. I wonder if they're counting on Mauldin coming back.
Just a few teams with better TEs and depth. Patriots - Gronk ,Allen and O'shaugnassy Chiefs Kelce , Harris and Escobar Washington - Reed, Vernon Davis, Niles Paul. Titans Delanie Walker, Jonnu Smith Tampa Bay OJ Howard ,Cameron Brate Packers - Martellus Bennett, Richard Rodgers, Lance Kendricks Eagles - Zach Ertz, Brent Celek, Trey Burton It's nice that ASJ looked good in shorts then in Shells. Great that he quit drinking but he is far from the top tier TEs in the game. And that showed in the games. Hack improved, you ready to put him in the same Class as Brady, Rodgers, Brees? Leggett is Raw. There's a reason he went in round 5. Gragg sucks, maybe he looks good when compared to the shit we have had but he couldn't make the Bills roster and Tye is good but not elite , far from it.
My guess is that the team hoped Bishop could contribute as a pass rush specialist, especially in Nickel, but he didn't show quite enough. I think Ealy will occupy that role now, and they like Donahue as a developmental pass rusher who will get some chances. Bishop also didn't contribute much on specials to my knowledge, where Robinson does. Robinson has only been in league 2 years, and took defensive snaps at end of last season, and a lot this preseason from what I read. Maybe the Jets see something they like on D, but I agree specials would be his edge over Bishop. With Mauldin, who knows....Might just be a case of stubbornness considering his draft selection. If he won't be ready for awhile, they should free up another spot by putting him on PUP. I'd rather Bishop than Mauldin at this point.
