I haven't seen it yet, but this would be my guess:

    Tye replaces Tomlinson
Robinson replaces Mauldin who they will put on the PUP or IR
Raymond replaces Murphy as the return specialist
Stringfellow replaces Peake as a big WR and specials contributor

All in all good moves, as the bottom of roster wasn't very good.
I'd also look for a FB and ILB upgrade, maybe even a K upgrade....

    Thanks! Makes sense.

Looks like both Robinson and Raymond were signed to upgrade STs. According to the Star Ledger (for whatever that's worth), Stringfellow didn't play STs with Miami, at least he wasn't a returner.

I think Sam Rogers was considered the best or one of the top 2 best FBs in college football 2-3 years ago. Wonder if the Jets have any interest in him.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Jets have signed or will be signing RB and former Seahawk Alex Collins to the PS. I think that's a good signing.

I think Jason Vander Laan is one of the players being waived. Probably with an injury designation. Will be a practice squad guy if he clears waivers

I also saw on the Star Ledger that TE Tomlinson has a foot injury and that Vander Laan may get placed on IR. That makes sense then why the Jets signed Tye. It should be interesting next season with ASJ, Leggett, Tye, Gragg and Vander Laan. I wonder if the Jets will still be as high on Vander Laan then. ASJ, Leggett, Tye and maybe Gragg Could make a deep, strong TE corps, possibly one of, if not THE best in the NFL. After the last several years with almost zero production from the TE position, who'd have thought it could become one of the team's strengths by next season?

Leggett is a 5th round rookie, raw as hell, and doesn't block.
You can only use him sparingly to start, which left us only Tomlinson.

I agree it's hard to pick up an offense like the WCO right away, but Tye will get thrown right into the mix.
He's an upgrade over Tomlinson, and maybe will last beyond ASJ's return. Let's hope he's a quick study.
If he can play an H-back role as well, even better as we shouldn't keep a straight FB like Howsare.

You might be right..I've been looking for info on the extent of injury but haven't been able to find anything at all.

I was hoping he'd be ready for the season.
He's an interesting player if nothing else.

Ha, with a roster this shitty, the upside is that waiver claims present a lot of opportunity..

Let's hope that group can make top 10 next year, that would be a stretch but a great accomplishment.
ASJ had a good camp but was very quiet in pre season games. He is not in the same tier as guys like Gronk, Kelce, Olsen, Graham, Reed, Eifert. Best in the league is a little bit of a stretch...

All I have seen since last preseason game is that it's a shoulder injury. He definitely looked like he has potential to develop into a good TE.
Maybe the lack of info is due to the Jets hoping it keeps teams away and he clears waivers ?

3 practice squad additions so far:

    JETS' PRACTICE SQUAD (10 PLAYERS)

    LB Frank Beltre (Jets)

    OL Geoff Gray (Packers)

    RB Alex Collins (Seahawks)

I'd be interested in re-adding NT Simon and DL Lawrence Thomas for sure.
Some other worth considering: OT Leamon, CB Xavier Coleman, WR Gabe Marks, FB Anthony Firsker, DL Patrick Gamble

and wow, just read Freddie Bishop was cut

Not yet. But to be honest with a roster so bad any additions would likely be improvements.
