Everything I'm reading says he didn't have a good camp and the Lions aren't even counting on him to clear waivers. Rudock, a 6th rounder last year ran "boat races" around him. Either way it's a moot point. We aren't dropping a QB to put in a claim for him.
A bit harshly treated but then they get Osweiler back on the very very cheap, which almost seems underhanded as well, signing for 750k one season deal. 6m for McCowan to be on IR by week 4 seems steep in comparison
It looks like Leggett just isn't going to see the field this year unless there's an injury. I know he's raw but I would have liked his role to expand as the year went on. Maybe it still will, who knows.
Think they are going to play him more to the outside this year while he develops his blocking. Tye is an excellent pickup, hopefully he's a quick learner!
Like the Tye pickup. Still young at 25. Good hands. Productive player. With ASJ/Tye/Leggett the Jets are actually going to get production from the TE position this year.
A bunch of claims: WR Kalif Raymond from Denver WR Damore'ea Stringfellow from Miami LB Edmond Robinson from Minny
If I'm not mistaken Stringfellow had a 99 yard TD catch and run in one of the Dolphins early preseason games. Yeah it's only preseason but worth a look .....Tye also a solid pick up. Very quietly the Jets have improved the TE position on paper at least .....
You know I just googled Stringfellow and that 99 yard TD pops up all over the place. Watch the play. He showed good hands and some nice moves.....the pass itself was only roughly 30 yards.........this guy is definitely worth a look at least
Why? The Jets aren't gonna cut one of their present QBs and they aren't gonna carry 4 QBs on the roster again.
That's really surprising to me. I know he's pretty good, but he doesn't know the offense and probably won't for several weeks. Either Vander Laan is more seriously hurt than thought and possibly going on IR or Leggett must be really raw to the point where the Jets don't even want to put him on the field to learn, but I thought that was the whole point of this season. I know that Tomlinson is nothing special, but he's a pretty solid blocker. I expected him to be cut following ASJ's suspension. Interesting. Will look forward to see what is what.
