Darnold 249 passing yards, ran for a TD and 2 INT's.

Derwin James has to be one of the best college football players I've see in a while. Now that is a safety I would have no problems drafted in the top 10. The boy is special.

I mean, we just drafted two safeties with our 1st and 2nd round picks, so I would be a little annoyed if we drafted another safety in the top ten.

Ross Bowers CAL, watched him today, he was behind Goff and Webb, but he looked good against North Carolina.

Guy was making good decisions with ball and placement was excellent. I know it's only one game but just someone else to think about if eligible.

Kids a special talent. Better than any of the Safety's drafted last year. Wish he could have avoided the injury last year. Would have been a great pick.

LOL me too. Just saying in general. I don't like drafting safeties that high but I would break that rule for this guy if I needed a safety because he is something else.

He may be a top 5 pick. Was the consensus top defensive player in the nation before getting hurt last year.
Would love to have him on the Jets, but not after talking back to back Safety's this year.

I only saw about 20 minutes of the Auburn - Ga. Southern game, but Stidham didn't show me anything. His ball placement was pretty bad. Threw a slant pass behind the receiver that was intercepted. If he had led the receiver it would have been a completion and a good gain. The next series (I think) their RB took a handoff on 1st down and ran for a long TD 40+ yards. The next series, Stidham was back to pass didn't feel the pressure was sacked, fumbled and a Ga. Southern defender ran it back for a TD.

Not a good day for QB except for Baker Mayfield, unless some others had good/great days that I haven't heard about yet.

Meanwhile Luke Falk out there throwing darts. Doesn't even have an incompletion in 1.5 quarters + 2 TD passes.

It's going to be a long season, and no QB is perfect - there will be ups and downs for all of them. BUT...it underscores my belief that they should've grabbed one last draft.

Stidham has the best ball placement I've seen from a college QB in years. Accuracy is his trademark. That INT was not a slant but crossing route. It was a tad bit behind but not to the level of "pretty bad"; not to mention it was just 1 throw. I categorize it more as a force than bad ball placement. The defender was on the WR's hip. So close he was easily able to under cut the route. It's VERY difficult to complete a crossing route when the defender is trailing that close. The margin for error is too narrow. The sack fumble was a play-action fake where he got blindsided at the top of his drop immediately after he pulled the ball out of the RB's belly. It was a missed blocking assignment; he had no chance to sense that pressure. Sorry but I had to correct the record; context matters.

A valid criticism would be that he was hesitant for the remainder of the game. Whether it was because of the 2 early TOs, the drops, guys were not open and/or just rust, but he was not taking chances. It didn't matter this game as they didn't need him to but it will matter when they step up in comp.

Watch out for Justin Herbert from Oregon. May be the best athlete of any Pac-12 QBs and has a better arm than Mariota. Only a true sophomore though so we won't have a shot at him yet. Had to burn his red shirt last year.

Got Rosen at 730 against Texas A&M should be a good one. He's more refined and polished compared to the others

I think some of these qbs absolutely have talent, but there are no Andrew Lucks, no Winston level prospects. Doesn't mean the Jets can't find a good qb prospect. Interested to see how these players bounce back.

Josh Allen's interceptions surely will be on the highlights, he made some awful decisions.

Rosen is the most refined by far but he is still prone to making really poor mind-numbing decisions. With this group it's going to be about which traits (e.g., accuracy, escapability, pocket awareness, arm talent...etc.) you value most and dealing with the negatives that will come with it.
