Far from it. I'm just sick of Bowles, and sick of Jets stupidity. They kept the dumb bastard on as HC this season when he should have been fired following last season. There's no way Catanzaro should have gotten the job. The kicking competition was obviously every bit the sham that the QB competition was.

Perhaps you're right. If so, then that's just another strike against Mac as far as I'm concerned, but it certainly seems like a Bowles-type move.

Well, Ronald Martin was getting cut anyway, so I never had a problem with trading him. As for trading a S for a LS, why not? STs are very important, and the LS is perhaps the most critical part of the snap and hold for FGs and extra points. I don't see that as a problem, since Purdum was supposedly struggling in camp, and the Jets wanted to bring in some competition/insurance. The Colts may have been the only team that had any interest in Martin. Since a number of teams have already cut a LS, I have to think that either the Jets didn't think those LSs were that good, or the Colts were the only team that had any interest in Martin. Since Martin was cut, it would seem that the Jets didn't trade to get Martin's LS to reunite them, but rather that they thought he was one of the best LSs that would be available, and it was just a coincidence that he was Martin's LS in college.
What happened to Lemonier that he's on IR? I guess the Gragg injury was serious also. With VanderLaan also out, I expect the Jets to be looking for a TE after other teams cuts...hopefully one that can block.
Was just about to post this... I'm surprised both were cut. I feel Pennel is a better prospect than Simon, and looked better in limited preseason action. However, Pennel seemed buried on the depth chart and saw less action than guys like Pelon. Wonder who it will be.. Thomas also a little surprising only now that Sheldon traded. Keepers: Wilk, Leonard, McLendon, Ealy Maybe another 2 spots between Pennel, Pelon and Gamble Hopefully Simon and Thomas find way onto practice squad.
K's Mike Nugent and Graham Gano were both cut P Andy Lee was cut. Getting older, but former pro bowler with great years on SF we need a Returner as well Wouldn't surprise me if we try to improve any of those positions
Do you know how serious Vander Laan's injury is? I don't think they'll sign a TE. They'll have Leggett and Tomlinson, then ASJ after 2 games, and maybe Vander Laan before then.
