Last year as in 2016, lee, hack and Jenkins or this past draft?
Because one doesn't and the other is a little early to tell

we could have kept both had we not drafted williams and also drafted beasley instead who went 2 picks later and is a beast OLB something we don't have lol but seriously it was a great move all things considered

I never thought we'd get a 2nd rounder for him. Gotta give Mac credit for this one, it was a very good trade. Great value for a guy who was going to walk after this dumpster fire of a season. We also got a decent veteran receiver, which we needed after Enunwa went down.

Rather he win it than Brady take home another one.

Good trade, as long as we don't take some shitty college qb with the second round pick

Our first pick will be Josh Allen or Sam Darnold. Our next two will be the bodyguards assigned to protect for the next decade

If Mac was smart he would move the just-acquired pick for a high 3rd, 4th and 6th round pick next year on draft day. The jets need a lot and as bad as Mac has drafted, the more picks, the better chance of a hit (unless your John Idzik).

I disagree. It's way too early for that. If we overachieve, he may need it as part of a package to trade up to get the QB we want. There could be a really good OG who falls that far, and then wouldn't you be pissed if Mac had already traded the pick, and the player got taken before we pick in the 3rd? He needs to wait and see who develops, what our needs are, who's in the draft, who we like in the draft, and where we have the players ranked. Right now, Mac has lots of options. If he trades the pick prematurely, all those options are gone.

Good trade although I expect Seattle to have a good year - this will be a low second round pick.

Hopefully this firepower, and a worthwhile tank, should see us outmuscle the Bills for the top rookies.

The Jets got the 2nd because Richardson is a tremendous talent with a high motor entering his prime.

The deal had to be done given the Jet's situation but the upside is all on the Seahawks side. They won't play Richardson at OLB or do anything else silly with him. If he doesn't get hurt or piss poorly he's going to be one of the best players on what is already an excellent defense.

I am so tired of me-first players who excel on the field but cause big issues for the Jets in other areas. There's no "I" in team.

I do not understand your response. My post said on draft day, not now. I do not understand when you say it is way too early and use the word prematurely. The post assumed the jets had not moved up and there was not the ideal pick available when the jets are on the clock with seattle's second rounder next year-- all things being equal they could move down and get a lot of value. The jets needs picks especially since they will need players at many offensive positions next year after ignoring offense in the draft for years. Perhaps they will move down (or up?) with their own first or second rounder but I doubt it.

I will never understand purposely making your team weaker....a conscious effort to suck.
Yea yea... I know why they did it and I still stand by my sentiment.

U are trading one of the best, young DL in Football for an unproven 2nd round Draft pick and a WR who is a #3 receiver at best....
While still being 17 mil..(now around 23 I believe) under the cap all in the effort to suck more for:
An ATTEMPT to draft a QB that MIGHT be there or another one that MAY NOT come out all in the hopes that he will be great 5 years from today.....(when we'd then have to resign him)

This is just talking chances, probability and /basic logic...

    ....wait....not done.

NOW, let's add the infamous history of the JETS epic draft picks and come to the conclusion...yep, this is the way to go.

    and a side note fellas:
JFTR, just because someone disagrees doesn't mean "they don't know football". Some on here were breaking down Defenses while you were still on the teet. ;)

So, I've been saying this since day one of my days on TGG and I will stand by my logic.
You DO NOT trade a proven player for an unproven draft pick.
(In general, taking a big risk ESPECIALLY with our draft history)

I believe in building a team while keeping your best players until that cap is at -$1..
IDGAF how Much under the cap we are, I gaf about wins on the field.
I'd rather a good JETS player get that money than it stay in Woody's pocket.
    Remember,
We were MINUTES away from the Super Bowl...:(
    ....with Mark Sanchez..

Sorry if I misinterpreted your intent, but the way it is worded with "on draft day" at the end of the sentence, it was unclear to me, and sounded like you were saying trade now for additional picks on draft day.

    Yes, it sure was.

While it will be a late 2nd round pick, it's much better than a compensatory pick in 2019, and Kearse, while nothing special, adds a veteran presence to the locker-room and on this team can be a top 3 WR/contributor. Next year, after Enunwa is back and they add another WR somewhere, FA I'm assuming, he will (if he's still here) could slide very nicely into a WR4/5 role, which is more like what he's been doing in Seattle for the past 4 years.

Also, Richardson's attitude is out of the locker-room. That can only help things. Maybe Mo gets his ass back on track.

Sheldon may be the only NFL player more likely to piss poorly than get hurt.

you are not going to get much for a Sheldon who cannot break in and start on his own DL. he was not a very good LB last year. Plus he is maniac with a suspension history. Plus he is a FA. And i am not even talking about the locker room. They did okay
