I was adamant right from the beginning that Sheldon should not be given away for no less than a 2nd a starting player. And many here were looking to rid him for 4th? All it takes is patience and to not show beads of sweat to the opposition - Mac did good on this.

Welcome to the nuthouse, er, I mean the Jets, Jermaine Kearse. I know that you're probably not very happy right now, but maybe you'll view this as an opportunity to be the #1 or #2 WR so you can get a lot more playing time, stats and then another bigger contract. If so, here's hoping that you rise to the challenge!

I cant see him say anything negative about the Jets. What the hell did they do to him expcet stand by him. Only thing he can say is he went from a lousy team to a super bowl contender. Its the truth.

Guy, the poster I responded to was talking about KEARSE, NOT Richardson.

I swear, I guess it's the raw emotions everyone is dealing with facing the upcoming season, but I have seen more responses to posts in the last 2 days that showed that the responder only half-glanced at the post they were responding to and had the facts all wrong, than I've seen in the last 6 months.

Gotcha. The word "HE" was used so I did not miss read, I miss interpreted. How could I glance at one sentence. Maybe if you shorten your posts people would read everything you posted. I enjoy and respect your opinion but I don't read any short stories, I don't care that much about anyone's opinion. Only the NY Times and specifically Thomas Friedman

Just to be fair, in case I wasn't clear, I apologize. Also,in re-reading the comments in the thread, maybe the poster I responded to was talking about Richardson, and I just thought he was talking about Kearse.

For the record, I wasn't just talking to you or to some who had responded to just my posts. I've seen it with a number of responses and posts to different posters.

If my posts are too long and hold no interest for you, fine, don't bother reading them. That won't bother me at all. I don't expect a response to any of my posts, but am gratified when people do respond, and we can discuss something and I can possibly learn something.

Everyone has different reasons for posting here. I like intelligent discussion that looks at issues thoroughly, not just one factor that's a small part of an issue. I like learning and looking at things from various angles, and thinking deeply about things.

I fully understand that my longer posts aren't for everyone. Some people don't have the time to spend here that I do. Others don't want in-depth discussion. They just have fun cracking on others or whatever.

The second is what makes this deal; Kearse is decent but will likely be terrible for us this year.

yes it will just as entertaining as the actual play of his ex-teammates on the field this year.

that 2nd will likely be towards the bottom 1/3rd of the round but who cares. seattle did us good.

this is the pick we should have had on draft day in we had traded down early on.

    better late than never.

Good job getting a 2nd for him. I have no way of knowing, but I don't believe that Dallas had offered a second during the season last year, plus a serviceable WR. The reality is Sheldon's off-field concerns caused his value to drop, not anything he's done on the field. He'll probably have a monster year in Seattle, but buyer beware whoever signs him to his next contract...

  11. This will give us a leveraging point for draft day.The additional 2nd could provide ammo for a trade up or even allow us additional incentive to trade down from our presumed early 2nd round pick which usually attracts some quality trade packages.

Of course there's also the option of just keeping the picks.

Let's hope that if Mac is still the GM, he doesn't trade the 2nd rounder for a couple of 6th round picks.

Later Sheldon. Wish you had your head out of your ass years ago, you'd still probably be here.

From a trade standpoint, Jets getting a 2nd rounder all things considered is a miracle. Kearse is a throw in.

A sporadic headache gone with no guarantee that a big contract for him would do anything for his know it all attitude. A position that is stacked for a position of need, very good job Mac with a second rounder I never thought Sheldon with his attitude was worth.
This could be the start of something big, the Jets did something that makes sense.

Macc redeemed himself a bit with this, but he'll have to stay on this track for me to say he's doing a good job. I'm honestly surprised that he got a #2 AND a decent receiver. Credit where credit is due. As far as Richardson - "Addition by subtraction", Branch Rickey would be proud.

Sheldon is a time bomb, he'll do something dumb & get suspended again, mark that down!

Right now, last years draft is looking pretty good, don't you think?

    Good question.
It's still early, but right now I don't like the Lee or Hack picks at all.

Mid rounders Jenkins, Burris and Shell look at least promising.
7th rounders Lac Edwards and Peake I don't know yet.
UDFA's had great value with Anderson, J Marshall, Middleton and L Thomas.

So while I don't like the early (and most important) picks, I'm encouraged by finding value on day 3 and beyond..

Great move, getting a second round pick, and a starting WR for a ticking time bomb. Kudos.
