I get that,,,,but man I still can't understand that this thing will just sit that long , we are talking about the pressure locking it in place for possibly a week! If I lived there or had family there , we would have our asses out of dodge I don't care what the officials are saying ! Stay put ? my ass

The reason that thing stays put is the same reason the 10 day forecast for us looks so good C.
Have you done the math on what 36" of rain would be in snow?

Not looking good down there. Talking about 50 inches of rain. Historical level bad.

What are the chances that tropical storm on the East Coast makes a left turn instead of going out to sea and hits NJ?

my guess is very low chance of that ts making a big left. we have a ridge of high pressure settled in and will guide it straight north at worst. northern new england could see a wet end of the week.

Here in Wilmington NC....center should pass right over...or just to our right.
We are in the range of 6 to 9 inches of rain..which this area cant handle....way too much rain!!! but nothing compared to the Texas.....will update you

eh, so they're double counting rainfall? what does it matter if the water is re-poured, it's "a wash"

More Doom? I'll be rooting for the GFS this week...... which unfortunately this year is like rooting for the JETS

Current Euro model is potential disaster..... GFS = me taking the week off to surf

SB is the new breaking news guy for this thread. Its official. I saw this on the models this morning and boom...SB..is on top of it. GREAT JOB. Because this has nothing to knock it down....no sheering...and with the chance to swing it north towards FL or even further north depicted by that huge high pressure over the middle of the Atlantic...lesser HIGH..more towards the gulf. Dont think so. You never know.

This storm is no joke...and I believe it this cat 4 easily and perhaps cat 5 along the journey...where it ends up and at what strength is a huge ? But there is nothing to prevent this thing from exploding along the journey. It will be a big one.

and for the record..just checked the GFS ensembles..and wouldnt trust that location as far as I could throw it. Euro is on to something....albeit a bit too far south.
