The New York Jets have traded safety Ron Martin to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for long snapper Thomas Hennessy. Devon Still was cut to make room for Armegedon Draughn.
Well should it be...take solace in knowing that this time around it was a late august waiver claim on a 1 year deal & not a 1st round draft pick like Coples OG
Just posted in the OL thread too, but Cam Erving is on the trade block. He was a first round pick by the Browns not long ago. Theoretically he's versatile and just entering his third season. Has a lot of starting experience. If possible, I'd swing a player trade for him. Maybe Mauldin? http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/10384/cameron-erving
Mauldin, sounds like , is heading to ir. I'd throw a conditional pick up to a third based on performance
My mascot for the year is going to be Lucky Whitehead. I hope they do a close shot of his face at least once a game so we can all share the fun.
Mo should be giving it his all, regardless of its preseason or regular season. He had an awful 2016 season where he was horrendous and caused drama and distractions. He may not feel like he needs to perform because its PS but many people, including myself, would be happy if the Jets traded him. A lot of people felt he wasn't worth the mega contract he got and so far those people are correct in their assessment. You're right maybe I should give him a few games to show whether he can return to form but his play last year doesn't spark any confidence.
I couldn't disagree more. You and others who think the same need to go back and check Mo's stats and play prior to last year. He had one bad year. Big effing deal. Sheldon has had several of them and is a moron. Talk about distractions with his continued bitching at Marshall, and thinking he deserves big money after being suspended and playing like crap for 2 seasons. Those of you who think Mo should be traded need to have a reality check. His contact is prohibitive. The only way he'd get traded is if the Jets pick up a huge chunk of his salary, and that would eat up all the cap space we have. Plus he gets pressure on opposing QBs that Sheldon can only dream of. Sheldon has never even remotely come close to getting as many sacks and pressures as Mo has. That's fact. More than likely, once Sheldon gets a big contract, his motor stops and he returns to being a major headache and head case. Do you understand being injured? He was out there trying, giving it his best. If it's anyone's fault for last year, it's Bowles'. Bowles shouldn't have played Mo if he wasn't healthy and ready to play. He could have played Sheldon a lot more at DE instead of OLB. There's a reason he didn't (aside from the fact that Bowles is a moron). Think about that. He had more confidence in an injured Mo than he did a healthy Sheldon. Mo's stats 2016 - 15 G, 14 GS, 33 T, 25 A, 4.5 sacks, 3 PDs, 1 FF 2015 - 16G, 15 GS, 39 T, 25 A, 12 sacks, 7 PDs, 2 FF 2014 - 13 G, 13 GS, 31 T, 25 A, 6 sacks, 5 PDs, 1 FF 2013 - 16 G, 16 GS, 43 T, 20 A, 10.5 sacks, 3 PD, 1 interception, 2 FF 2012 - 16 G, 15 GS, 36 T, 33 A, 5 sacks, 4 PD, 3 FF 22011 - 16 G, 16 GS, 35 T, 14 A, 1 sack, 2 PD, 1 FF for his career, he has averaged 36.1666 tackles, 23.666 assists, 6.5 sacks, 4 passes defensed, and 1.666 forced fumbles Sheldon's stats 2016 - 15 G, 14, GS, 38 T, 24 A, 1.5 sacks, 2 PD, 1 FF 2015 - 11 G, 11 GS, 20 T, 15 A, 5 sacks, 2 PD, 2 FF 2014 - 16 G, 16 GS, 42 T, 25 A, 8 sacks, 1 safety, 1 PD, 1 FF 2013 - 16 G, 15 GS, 42 T, 36 A, 3.5 sacks, 1 PD, 1 FF for his career, he has averaged 23.666 tackles, 25 assists, 4.5 sacks, 1.5 passes defensed, 1.25 forced fumbles With the exception of assists in tackles, Mo is better in every category, has far better character, has less chance of being suspended, and has been a better Jet.
Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Jets have gauged trade market for RB Matt Forte, who’s healthy now. However, Pelissero admits that it would be “very tough” to trade Forte and his $4 million guaranteed salary. Oh boy....So after Powell gets hurt week 3, I guess McGuire and some dude working at Walgreens will get 30-40 carries.
Like I said in my original response, Mo's contract is prohibitive and he won't be going anywhere, at least not this season. Furthermore, both Mo and Sheldon, as far as I'm concerned, both have their own issues that cause problems. One can't shut up with arguing with a former jet, the other one missed meeting and a birthday party they were trying to throw him. One has a huge contract, broke his leg, and did not look great last year. Will that change this year, for our sake I hope so because it would go down as yet another poor move that Macc has made. I am a macc supporter but right now I cant justify him being back next season if the season goes as I anticipate. Mo may very well have a breakout year but he deserves criticism, even if you think it may be unwarranted. And yes the stats show Mo is better but Sheldon Richardson was also played out of position, OLB, because Bowles is a clown. Frankly, both have baggage. It really comes down to what they do this season, and what that production means going forward.
ROFLMAO!!! Yeah, he's on another level alright, a level or two lower. SMH Jets fans and their weird beliefs
