I'm no longer defending Mac for ignoring the OL and offense. He should have addressed the OL more significantly in the 2015 and 2016 drafts. In the 2015 draft, he could have added players like: Todd Gurley, Cedric Ogbuehi, Laken Tomlinson, Cameron Erving, Donovan Smith, T.J. Yeldon, Jake Fisher, Tyler Lockett, Tevin Coleman, A.J. Cann, Ty Sambrailo, Ty Montgomery and others. To be fair, there were high profile offensive players he could have taken too that have pretty much been busts or not done much. In the 2016 draft, he did try to trade up for Laremy Tunsil. If he had been able to sign one of the top two FA OGs in 2015 instead of or in addition to Carpenter, and then added Tunsil, the OL would look markedly different. He deserves credit for that much, but in the 2016 draft, he could have added players like: Joshua Garnett, Germain Ifedi, Sterling Shephard, Derrick Henry, Jason Spriggs, Michael Thomas, Nick Martin, Cody Whitehair, Le'Raven Clark and Graham Glasgow. One more offensive draft pick that has looked pretty good is ArDarius Stewart.
The sad thing is, are defenses will be our only offense, maybe we should put a call out to Deion Sanders
Pretty sure that's been dead a while. Freddie bishop may want to look into getting out of his lease now though
Mac continues to build nothing....Im close to completley turning on him.I went from 40% In favor of getting rid of him to 70% in one off season.I didn't hate Mac from day 1 like I did with Idzik so I gave Mac a chance to at least prove what he can do but it's year 3 and we are worse then year 1.Its simple math...Bowles lost my support during the Buffalo game to go to the playoffs, I honestly hope he's gone after this year unless theres some epic turn around.
how long have you been a jets fan? you expect our front office to do something that makes sense? mac could have taken a 7th round flier on a qb that broke records at ole miss ( chad kelly) , but instead he used a 2nd round pick on a guy whose 3/4 years at penn state were a disaster! hacking is not only just bad in the internet universe.
Kinda weird Ealy is the straw that broke the camel's back here. And I get the OL was neglected for the most part but still improving parts of your roster still is the endgame here. Maybe some decent OLine will be available come cut down day to help here..
maybe kevin greene should be the dc and morton the interim hc/oc. if not, let westhoff serve the rest of the year as the interim hc.
I looked for lists of players rumored to be on their roster bubbles on the web, but didn't have much luck. I found one at ESPN, but it's from June 28 and only lists one player per team. There is one from Spotrac, but it's from May 15. The Bleacher Report isn't the most reliable source, it only lists "big name" players, but it's from only 4 days ago. I tried to find other more reliable sources and more recent ones, but couldn't. It still could provide some possible insight into possible help for the team. I am including the links for the ESPN and Spotrac sites in case anyone is interested. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/pag...roster-bubble-all-32-nfl-teams-2017-offseason http://www.spotrac.com/research/nfl/nfl-players-on-the-2017-roster-bubble-632/ http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2728649-2017-nfl-roster-bubble-biggest-names-who-could-be-cut Players from Bleacher Report: Brandon Bolden, RB Patriots Sammie Coates, WR Steelers Cody Latimer, WR Broncos Geno Smith, QB Giants Sean Spence, ILB Colts Blake Bortles, QB Jaguars Brock Osweiler, QB Browns DeAngelo Hall, DB Redskins Jamaal Charles, RB Broncos Sheldon Richardson, DE Jets Kyle Fuller, CB Bears Harry Douglas, WR Titans D.J. Fluker, OG Giants Stephone Anthony, OLB Saints Jarius Wright, WR Vikings
The way he's been balling out during the pre-season he should garner a decent return considering are lack of leverage.
I found a few more lists. https://www.fanragsports.com/nfl/5-players-roster-bubble-not-cut/ They only list 5 players. Carl Davis, DL Ravens Stephone Anthony, OLB Saints Arthur Moats, LB Steelers Cameron Artis-Payne, RB Panthers Rod Smith, RB Cowboys http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachp...i-dolphins-are-now-squarely-on-roster-bubble/ Dolphins supposedly on the bubble: RB: Storm Johnson or Senorise Perry OL: Isaac Asiata (OG); Jake Brendel (OG or C); Eric Smith (T) WR: Damore'ea Stringfellow, Rashad Lawrence, or Drew Morgan Also some defensive players but no one whose name I recognize https://ebonybird.com/2017/08/19/baltimore-ravens-5-players-already-roster-bubble/ 5 players: Bobby Rainey, RB Matt Skura, OG/C Carl Davis, DL Ryan Mallett, QB Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/...Ayers-53-man-roster-cuts/stories/201708250170 Steelers WRs on the bubble: Sammie Coates, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Demarcus Ayers, Cobi Hamilton
