BCS title game scenarios Ohio St/Mich - ND wins and lack of miracle Ohio St/USC - USC wins by a lot at least 30 Ohio St/ND - act of god, win by 10+, Arkansas loss vs. LSU, and Arkansas win vs. Florida. The SEC won't get in the title game just because Mich will stay at #2 if USC loses.
I really would hate to see a rematch game. Michigan had their shot, they lost, time to give someone else a chance at OSU. They don't deserve a do-over Plus, if Michigan wins, what happens? I'd bet there would be a split championship...Ohio State already proved they could beat Michigan. It's not fair for Ohio State to have to beat Michigan twice to win the national championship.
http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/bowls/predictions Ohio St./Mich - Title game Florida/ND - Sugar GT/Louisville - Orange Texas/Boise St. - Fiesta USC/WVU - Rose My prediction: Ohio St./Mich - title Arkansas/ND - Sugar BC/WVU - Orange Texas/Louisville - Fiesta USC/Boise St. - Rose
I'd be stunned if Arkansas took Florida to the mat. Then again, I didn't expect them to beat Auburn either, so who knows?
I agree. I just don't see how it is fair to Ohio State. Michigan should not be rewarded for losing even though they lost on the road in close fashion to the #1 team. I'd rather see any of the other top five or six teams before I'd like to see an OSU-Michigan rematch.
I must say this is a joke. Michigan is getting all this credit for playing so well and the game being a "classic". Thats such bull, the final score may have been close but it wasnt a classic, OSU had the game in hand pretty much the whole time. On top of that, Michigan had their chance to earn a spot in the title game, they blew it, they dont deserve it now I dont care how close the score was. Unfortunately it seems inevitable that itll be a rematch which really is a shame. Wildthing, I dont know why you hate the SEC so much, while there is little chance that they will be able to make up any ground and surpass Michigan, both Arkansas and Florida have a significantly better chance than Notre Dame. No matter what Notre Dame does they arent gonna make it, especially since everyone is in love with Michigan who killed ND. If Florida/Arkansas can beat both of their opponents by a nice margin they have a better chance simply because they havent played michigan. Arkansas has 2 top 10 BCS teams left. I still cant believe that there will possibly end up being a 12-1 team in the SEC and they wont get to play for the title. Thats my schpiel for this week regarding the BS system.
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head there. I'm no Gators fan, but if Florida wins the SEC (with wins over #9 LSU, #13 Tennessee, #5 Arkansas and tough unranked programs FSU, South Carolina and Georgia, only losing to #11 Auburn) yet finishes behind USC (with wins over Arkansas when they were unranked and injured, #21 Oregon, #9 Cal & #6 Notre Dame, losing to unranked OSU) then there will officially be something wrong with the BCS. The quality of USC's competition is not even close to the quality of Florida's, nor was it close to LSU's back when they somehow won the joint championship. The system is biased against teams from down south that win tough games, not 40 point blowouts against inferior opponents.
