yeah that's a little overagressive I think... it worked against the colts, but not against the bears... oh well. loss #5... where does the season go from here?

That cost us the fuckin game, you can't give away momentum turning plays like that. The Bears didn't do shit until after that stupid onside kick, the execution was terrible. They fooled noone.

Chris Berman said to expect something creative at the start of the game for the Jets - I think Mangini had the onside kick planned way ahead of time. It was their first kickoff of the game.

Would have looked brilliant if it worked.

One could just as easily say that Penningtons poor decision making on the 2 interceptions cost us the game.

The onside kick was definantly a bad call though.

no, the execution looked perfect as a matter of fact, Nuge make a good fake and hit it pretty well. But even if we did get it, I would still be against it, it was just a downright HORRIBLE HORRIBLE call

I am okay with it. it didn't work, only cost us three. the fact that the O couldn't manage any points probably reveals we wouldn't have won this game anyways...kind of hard to win when you get shut out.

I'd rather a culture of aggressiveness take over this team than the conservative approach of the past regime. it may have failed today, but in the long run, with experience, a few new players and a new QB, it will serve this team well in the long run.

only cost us 3? the final score in 10-0, those are 3 big points right there, by halftime every1 knew this was goin to be a tight low scoring game. The call just does not make any sense whatsoever, NONE

Mangini is great but he really made a couple of bad calls this game. He should have went with Nugent. He should have went for it on 4th down. On side kick to start the 2nd half? Please.....

They had nothing and we jump started their offence with great field position, trust me that is a momentum shifter more than anything else.

You were probably jumping up and down in the Indy game when it worked. I wish it worked vs. Chicago, but it didn't. It cost us three -- the defense was tough all game. Two INTs by Chad did more to cause the loss.

After 5 years of play not to lose, once in a while it's nice to play aggressively with an eye on winning.

Our pathetic offensive effort cost us the game, the failed onside kick made it unsavable for our defense.

When your offense played as poorly as it did in the first half, some risk taking was in order

Reality is we moved the ball well with a lot of misdirection early and put zero on the board. Once the Bears settled down it was clear we were done on O. Pennington went down the shoot as the Bears got comfortable with what we were doing. The onside kick was a result of Mangini believing the Jets blew the wad on their game plan and didn't get any points.

Nice game by the D, nice game by the Offensive line, Pennington was awful in both he's reads and he's execution, you can't win if you can't score.

Were we shuttin out Manning and the Colts that game? Nope. The circumstances for that game and this game were way different.

While I liked the agressiveness it was the wrong time fro an onside kick. No reason to give the Bears any momentum when their offense was lifeless. Let grossman prove he can move the ball. No reason to hand him field position. It seemed sort of a desperate call. I think a lot of you all judge a call based on whether it works or not. In this case it was probably a good chance that it would work but even if it did it was a bad call. We were dominating the game. The call was contrary to the flow of the game. Dit it cost the Jets the game no. Many plays caost the Jets the game this was just of a handfull. Overall I was very impressed with how we played today. But sometimes the ball does not bounce your way. To point blame on a game where we hustled and played as hard as we did is not constructive. I was very impressed with the effort.

The Colts game was not 0-0. If this was the opening kickoff, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. But in a 0-0 defensive struggle, I think you just play it safe and let your team outplay the other team. This was one of only 2 or 3 bad decisions on Mangini's part this season. I'll live with it.
