Man what nightmares those 1995 and 1996 openers were. 1995, both teams sloppy in the 1st. Miami then runs out to a 14-0 lead in the 2nd. Then we recover a fumble for a TD and intercept Marino to set up another TD. Suddenly it's 14-14. Then you blink and it's 52-14 Miami. 1996. High expectations. A lot more talent. Still Kotite. I remember NBC making fun of the Jets with how every defensive lineman for us was taking a knee with his helmet off desperately trying to catch a breath. We weren't even conditioned enough to take the field.
