The fiasco between them is in the past and that this point who really gives a shit. Both Richardson and Marshall are, in their own right, problems for locker rooms. Maybe that's why they never got along

Sheldon needs to shut the fuck up. He takes the bait every time with reporters.

I did not wish injury on Richardson, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with having a discussion with a fan of another team.

Ok not having the opportunity to hear all the NY Jets media, I never understood why Marshall was given the microphone many times after Jets games. It seemed odd to me the Jets couldn't come up with a better spokesperson.

The fact that you have both Marshall and Odell together leads to a very interesting football petri dish experiment. I remember watching the special on the NFL channel on Marshall and I though maybe he had matured and was ready to be the best receiver in the game. As to Sheldon, he did not have such a great season last year, so why he thinks he can speak out against Marshall when his house is not in order is simply outrageous to me.

What is even more upsetting is that Bowles can't seem to discipline his players on or off the field. I was really optimistic when he was first hired that he was the right guy. Now not so much these days.

I am glad to hear that you don't wish any injury to Richardson, I guess he just presses your buttons.

What cracks me up are people in the Boston media who took Aaron Hernandez' "the Patriot Way, it changes you" at face value.

In any event, since Ahern wasn't considered a locker room cancer do Pats fans need to look in the mirror?

(see? ....two can play the 'being a disingenuous dick' game)

    Holy mother of irony.

I don't wish misfortune on anyone, but I would not shed a tear if a certain poster got hit by a train and we never had to see or hear from him again.

You have to remember Marshall is on inside the NFL so he was naturally sought out by his colleagues after games for a quote. He was not selected spokesperson for the Jets.
The program films on Tuesday which is a day off for most teams but not the Giants so it will be interesting to see how that works out this season.
Sheldon simply answered a question, and also accepted responsibility for last season but that was left out and as I said, what was reported was partial quotes strung together completely out of context.

The media will always have a bias towards Brandon Marshall and more veteran players in general. Marshall is a guy who has made ins with CBS, NFL Network, and ESPN. He presents himself very well and has the foundation going for him. I have no doubt Marshall was acting like a Diva in that lockerroom and blaming guys. This isn't the first time either. Sheldon is right and he's just going to be perceived as someone just trying to start trouble...and that's why he should shut his mouth. Sheldon, with his offield issue, put his career in harms way and if he continues to talk (despite being right), he may never get a big pay day. There's no winning against the media.

Joe you make a good point here. Hernandez was a con artist who even fooled Bob Kraft. The only player that ever spoke bad against him was Matt Light, the retired left tackle who simply said I never liked the guy. You would think with all the Ex Cops the Patriots had working for them, they would have noticed all the gang tattoos that kept accumulating in his body. From what I have heard Hernandez didn't say much and lived another life outside of football. So he was more of a cancer outside the locker room for people who crossed his path.

The Pats just like many other teams have had so called cancers or players that become cancerous. When this does happen, they seem to give them the boot immediately no matter how good they are. For example when Randy Moss was not with the program they got rid of him like a cheap suit. Keep in mind that players in a winning team will tend to get along better that those of losing teams. So its not surprising to see players turning on each others when a team isn't successful.

As to the Patriot Way, yes an argument could be made its a dumb expression!

The media does have a habit of not telling us the whole story. I sometimes wonder if its purely laziness, sleaze, or a combination of both. Thanks for filling me in.

I understand that Marshall has friends in the media and I can see a bright future in the media for him. But the Jets brass could have done a better job in prepping him for the media.

Sorry to bring up the Pats again as an example, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to tell that Brady and other Pats players are being schooled what to say and most important what not to say. In New York with an extremely large media presence, you would think the Jets brass would be a bit more media savvy with their players. But then again, maybe the NY media is more savvy then the Boston media at getting the players to talk.

You are right about there is no winning against the media. Trump should listen to you.

I think even though Sheldon didn't have a great 2016, this year could erase all that if he really plays to his potential. The irony is if he has a great years it will be difficult for the Jets to resign him.

I credit NE and other organizations that limit the players availability to the very minimum required by the league.
I don't know if it's being schooled of just not available, (Brady did just admit to having had multiple concussions that were never reported to the league) but better orginizations just seem to make their players availability very limited.
I also feel the franchise should ban several of the local writers from the facilities. I don't mind reading a negative report if it's factual. But when reporters make things up or misquote players to generate clicks they should lose access to the team.
What is really sad is how many read a story, be it from a beat writers, or even a fan post and take it as gospel. The masses are too easy to mislead and manipulated. The state of a sports franchise is the least of our concerns. In this information age, misinformation can spark outrage across the nation and all to often does. When did people loose their ability to think, to reason and form their own intelligent decisions?
Sorry I got off topic forgive my rant. I'm just amazed how a story that was proven false can still resurface as fact on any given post.

I would think threatening one of the star players (Wes Welker ) within weeks of joining the Patriots would have maybe tipped Kraft and the rest of the organization off to the true nature of Hernandez.

My gut feeling is that Richardson is the dick in this feud. Marshall isn't blameless, but something about Richardson rubs me the wrong way, and it's probably the same thing that Marshall felt. Notice that nobody else felt the need to bash a guy who isn't on the team anymore.
