If the Jets go winless it's going to be because of an abysmal offense, easily fixable since we'd have the first overall pick and around 70-80M in cap. Maybe Odell hits FA?

Thanks for the kind sentiments. I think that your points are valid, and our disagreement is a minor one. One additional concern I'd have with a winless season though is Mac would likely be gone too, and I'd have a problem with that. Not that Mac has been a great GM... I think he has been good. Even just making the easy layup draft pics he's made like Williams and Adams seemed difficult for prior Jet GM's who have messed it up. I would be concerned with continuity and who the Jets would get to replace him. Too much risk.

    Bowles on the other hand...

That's what Hughes does. Rides both sides of the fence for clicks until someone explains to him wtf is really happening. Hughes does understand the questions tho, the talking points, and gets the clicks.
I would never form an opinion based on what the twerp says.

Definitely seeing progress. It's going to take patience though and not sure he will be afforded enough of it with the upcoming qb class looking strong right now.right now people are getting in him for any mistake.

You're welcome. I agree with you regarding Mac. IMO he shouldn't be fired if the team goes winless, but who knows what that boob Woody or his brother would do. Hopefully, with signs that young players are developing, draft picks playing great at times and flashing their potential and their improvement, Mac wouldn't be fired. I think the only reason it should even be considered is that if the OL winds up being awful and gets all 3 of our QBs seriously injured. In that case, I think he would deserve it for not paying more attention to the OL and offense.

Do you really think going 1 -15 is going to cost us the first pick?

No. I'm not advocating going winless just for the sake of it. As I've said, I hope we can win 2-3 games and still get the #1 pick, but if it takes losing all 16 games to get that top pick, then so be it.

Walt, I'm not sure if this was you or someone else, but was it you that mentioned the issue with Hack hitting reporters in practice via Hughes and why it was BS?

It's not important but I will hope for a win every time the team takes the field.
Going winless is one more black mark on the franchise but more importantly, I feel the players deserve to have the opportunity to enjoy at least one if not more victories.

Could be GG. I went nuts when somebody started a thread about that, and bashed Hughes. Others called bs too tho.

It was me who mentioned the issue about Hack hitting reporters in practice via Hughes.
It was BS for a couple of reasons.
First, no reporters were actually hit by any of Hacks passes .
There were 2 passes which bounced out of bounds in the area of the reporters , on one of the plays the receiver slipped and fell to the ground and on the other the receiver never attempted to reach for the ball and you could hear the coaches get in the receiver ass about it.
Hughes tweeted it on 3 different days, I believe it was each Tuesday of mini camp. Same 2 passes, no reporters ever hit and it became 6 reporters hit due to him reporting it each open day of camp. It was actually Cimini who finally called BS on it by stating that no reporters were ever hit and he actually went out of his way to kick the ball that bounced near by when the Receiver fell on his break. That happened to be after he wrote his article that "according to Connor Hughes Hack hits 6 reporters in practice".
I took alot of grief from Hughes fans here too. Probably will again LOL.

My bad Tony! I was one of them I think. Judging by his recent tweets [specifically yesterday - when a bunch of fans attacked him for not reporting everything], I definitely have a different view on how he reports.

He is even worse on his you tube blog.
It's all about click count with him now. He really changed his style of reporting.

Don't think you have to be concerned. If he was being evaluated on wins this season, he would not have configured the team as it is currently. In spite of what he says publicly, he has to know that he will win very few games this season, if any.

If teams were good at identifying the best players in each class I would agree with you. But they aren't (and we certainly aren't), meaning there isn't much of an advantage to drafting early in each round.

Surely that is a cock eyed way to view it ?

Let's not have the number 1 pick just in case we don't pick the right player o_O

It's more like let's not assemble a leaderless team of losers to get a pick that probably won't solve our problems.
