The whole thing really sucks. A true open competition would have been a benefit for the team. But this was a farce from the beginning. I have no interest in watching the Bowles/McCown led Jets. I'll maybe watch when Bowles is forced to make a change but that prick of a head coach is really hamstringing the young guys. Bowles can't leave soon enough for me.

I'm holdin' on to some hope. Gotta see for myself. Particularly with Hackenstein, a sign there's room for growth and that there's something to build on. But with everyone involved too.

  7. it's not a perfect unit but than again what NFL D really is these days? There is more than enough talent on D that w. Bowles supposed "Genius" defensive mind that if they aren't regarded among the Seahawks,Panthers,Steelers & Ravens defensively or even worse play like they did last season Bowles is not only gone but he's an utter failure.

That said I remain skeptical that any defense can carry a team or dominate w. the current rules & high scoring nature. Maybe defenses start catching up philisophicaly but I don't see it. There's currently no answer for a quick passing attack that repeatedly selects the best match-up.You either send blitzers & hope you get the passer off his spot; Or you sit back in zones eliminating the big play & hope you can tackle well.Neither are sustainable formulas for success.Considering this development...why again has every single first round pick since 09 been on Defense??

If we invested in the OL for a change, maybe we wouldn't be this bad.

God Stephen Hill was awful. Watching him on that one play trying to chase down the corner was pure comedy... except it made me cry. I really hope Geno Smith has to start a couple games for the Giants this year. It would be hilarious.

That draft was a major fuck-up. [Well. And the next one as well.]

If they grabbed David DeCastro with Coples pick, maybe he'd still be around. Jets do need a quality OL after all. They could pick Alshon Jeffreys over Stephen Hill. [Or they could grab an RT there too. Which would have helped the next year's draft much more, with Derek Carr and all.]

I can't hate that fucking idiot John Idzik enough. I think I hate him more than I hate any other football-related people. That includes Terry Bradway, T*m Br*dy and B*ll Belicheat. It takes some stupidity to top that list.

    HAHAHAHAHA thats fuckin great!

Just when I thought it was ending the music queues back up and delivers another round of turnovers. Look at the time, 9 fucking minutes of turnovers. Glorious. Enjoy Giants!

The only thing that could've topped off the video is if they found a way to include this:

I hated Bradway,,,but Idzik sure built up a lot of dislike in a short period of time . I think Bradway was more of a compiler , kinda like Emmitt Smith in a bad way ,,,lol
Had Idzik stuck around for years he would have given Terry a run for the crown

Finally hearing about rookies not names Adams showing progress. Elijah McGuire is showing good pass catching skills. Marcus Maye has been blowing people up and showing good coverage skills. Jordan Leggett has run the most punishment laps in camp.

Other than the safety position, where exactly is this defense better? It's still a mixture of players who are better suited for either a 3-4 or 4-3, not a hybrid defensive scheme.

Honestly I don't really care about elite 3-4 DL, they won't make a difference unless they have the LBs to compliment them. This jets defense still has the same deficiency they had last year. The key to their success will be determined by, Mauldin, Lee, Jenkins.

If those guys can become good LBs then whatever Wilk, Sheldon, Williams give you is icing on the cake, however if the jets are still relying on Wilk, Sheldon, Williams to be the most productive part of a hybrid defensive scheme, Jets and their fans will be in for a brutally bad display of football.

With regards to Bowles being a genius, I don't think he is good at all, the fact is, the Cardinals have not skipped a beat since he left, which tells me he was not the key to their succes. JMO

There's some good players on that D. If Lee and Jenkins can join the club, and by a long shot maybe Mauldin[which I'm skeptical] and Claiborne stays healthy, it may be pretty good. Of course an unknown new guy stepping up wouldn't hurt

If that becomes the case Bowles has to keep it simple and let them loose. Just let them play and not make things too complicated where they're thinking too much, at least for starters. Anyway that's the way I see it.

There was at least some good news from yesterday's practice.

    http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...mp_including_rontez_m.html#incart_river_index

MARCUS MAYE, safety: The rookie is really starting to come into his own, and --despite his 6-0, 207- pound frame -- is an awfully physical player. Maye again had a big hit which sent his teammates into a tizzy. He did drop a would-be pick-six in red zone drills, but overall, it was another solid practice for him.

RONTEZ MILES, safety: Filling in for injured Jamal Adams, Miles had the play of practice. In red zone drills, he perfectly read a screen to running back Eli McGuire. Miles broke on the play, intercepted the Josh McCown pass, and returned it for a would-be touchdown. Miles isn't just a fan favorite, but beloved by his teammates. He had quite the escort on his way to the end zone.

JUSTIN BURRIS, cornerback: Burris is really starting to come into his own. He actually accomplished something I haven't seen in my brief four-year NFL covering career. In receiver-cornerback drills, Burris locked down Frankie Hammond to the point where Bryce Petty couldn't throw the ball. Seriously. Petty had to run the ball in a 1-on-1, receiver-cornerback drill.
