From the sounds of this, it seems like the coaches are really focusing on "basics", which to me is vital, and I'm encouraged by that. If tehy stick with this approach it'll bear fruit.

Regardless of what type of offense they'll eventually run, they are going to need to develop the short, quick passing game which was non-existent last year, and if Hack is supposed to be the "future", he's going to need to learn how to make these kinds of throws. It's a good thing to begin addressing this early on.

Yes, it's always easier to break something than to put it together. This is why the Jets' apparent lack of focus on offense is so disturbing. But it is what it is. I'm just hoping they're finally addressing it, and from early reports it seems like they are.

yeah, that competition over in Cleveland is very interesting. Kessler and Kizer are going at it, but it seems the fans and even teammates are already backing Kizer. Dude has one heck of a work ethic. First one in and last to leave so far in most practices.

I really like how Hue Jackson is mixing things up and giving players opportunities. But I am worried the Jets are going the opposite direction in terms of that, but we shall see.

has some decent footage of Hansen catching some nice passes. I suggest you guys give them a follow as well.

Forte tweaked his hamstring. Got to wonder if he's going to make it through camp given our current propensity for cutting aging players.

    Guaranteed money keeps him here.
He went through a hammy in camp last year too. Maybe he just knows how to avoid the riggers,30 years old, he doesn't need the early reps anyway

I was at practice yesterday. Hack definitely had the best day imo. He made a couple throws that were very impressive. I was sitting with his cousin and talked hack for most of the practice and he brought my 8 year old back to meet him and get pics w/ him. He's family and biased obviously but he couldn't say enough about Hack, he talked in depth about his time at Penn State and how the coaches perceive the current competition.... Nice guy, I have been a well documented pro Hack guy and am even more so after hearing so much from an inside perspective.

According to my twitter feed, maye is lighting people up today. Defense chanting maye-day.
Also hack threw a pick in teams. Bad throw double coverage. Sounded like he made a nice pass on the next play. Typical young qb

He smacked Leggett so hard his helmet came off too. Defense is owning the offense, to add insult you got Adams calling out the offense's plays. Hopefully this will fire the offense up. I am very surprised by Maye's play so far given the tweets. It appears, both safeties can definitely play man coverage at a decent level. Maye's far more versatile then I thought.

  13. Bouncing back from a bad play is a very encouraging sign for Mr Hackenburg.

Yeah Hack has had a rough day, and McCown is "checking down" to victory for today.

Hopefully Hack learns and bounces back. Petty decent day throwing to this Chris Harper who has had a great day.

One one hand, I feel it's absurd to be rating players off of a freakin' August 1st practice. On the other hand, it's something to read that I'm going to continue reading. Camp used to be all about fluff pieces in the newspaper written to stoke interest in the season. Now it's as if each player's piss is broken down for color, strength of stream, and most importantly, accuracy!

It's from Jet Nation Brook. KRL is the user name of the guy doing the reports.

Let's see what happens Thursday after a bad day.
It's a shame, he was putting together decent practices.

Bright side is the secondary sounds fierce. Safeties making plays, Claiborne has been lock down. Getting very excited about the D

I wouldn't get exicted about the defense yet. Our offense is likely top 5-10 worst in the league.

Our defense looked really good against the Giants and the Bengals. That didn't mean jack shit.
