I'm not following this train of thought. What's the problem with the O and what they're doing? The two KRL have been positive regarding Hack, and it appears there might be a chance that we have an able TE crew since God knows when. What am I missing?
Apparently if Hack ever starts, it'll just be deep passes down the field. Why bother having him work on the short passing game so he can become a more complete QB? That makes absolutely no sense. A TE is not a QB's best friend. All rubbish. Hack gonna average 25 yards per completion. GOAT stats.
Just not a fan of when we did it before... it's a new offense so I'm taking it as he's just installing it piece by piece. We have a bunch of speedy deep threat WR's and a QB with a rocket arm but his accuracy is wild. So lets make run short routes and make Hack run a system where you MUST be as accurate as they come? That's how to ruin a young QB. I'm not a negative nancy at all though I'm beyond excited to see how this plays out one way or another.. but I've seen enough from the last regime and those horrible offensive game plans that came with anemic results... all because they were scared to let the QB make plays.. it's so predictable and ineffective.
lol nah bro not at all.. not saying he can't make short passes or run plays designed for short yardage. Of course we still need to play smart and logical football. It's when you do it for 4 quarters per game.. damn near every possession.. for 16 games straight. Let the kid ball man.. and play to his strengths ! That's all I've been asking from this team every year! Let them be what you seen when you drafted them, don't completely change their game and force them to mesh with what you do. That goes for a lot of positions on the field with us.
It's just reacting to practice reports and predicting what it will all mean on game day. That is all anyone is doing including KRL. Nobody knows what kind of offense and play calls they will have yet but we do know the talent and limitations of the players. The league is filled with offensive coordinators that don't accommodate for the strengths and weaknesses of their roster. So I was offering my thoughts that I hope that Morton is not yet another one of those types... . and the TEs suck man. They just aren't good football players. You can throw them the ball all you want it isn't going to change the fact that the roster as constructed has terrible TEs presently
That's the reason that Todd Bowles eliminated 2/3rds of the CS and brought in what appears to be better qualified personnel. I had posted this before about new offensive schemes, it takes about 6 weeks to see a return on investment, everything and everyone on the same page working as a well oiled machine. Hey look at the bright side, the Jets are already being praised for what appears to be good TE play, something they didn't have for 2 years under Gailey. Give it time, it will come together.
The TEs have been one of the bright spots so far, maybe you read a Meta article and that's why your being negative about the TEs. Seriously go look at the notes on ASJ, he's balling and getting open all day.
It's only been 2 days, you don't think they will implement the deep passing game? I think Hack is a very good Play-action QB, you want to get the TEs involved, get them the ball quick. Hack needs to be good in all facets, short / intermediate and vertical game. Can't just go out there and chuck passes down the field on each passing down. I don't think the Jets are changing his game by any means. Right now, it appears the TEs could become a strength in terms of the receiving core.
ASJ and Leggett have been impressive 3 practices in. Morton wants to involve the TEs. Morton always had a TE involved. 49ers with Vernon Davis and Saints with Fleener or previous Jimmy Graham. ASJ was a very good prospect coming out of the draft. He could very well breakout this year.
TEs as positives in camp thus far??? these TEs are running around in shorts with no hitting and the defense allowing the offense to work through their new system. I'll say I'm just a little bit skeptical. They just aren't talented players, these TEs. Look at the roster. Lots of weaknesses but by far the biggest are the TEs and the FBs. and the ONLY thing we're hearing about Morton's super secret genius offense is that he likes to feature the TEs and he uses FBs. That's why I am very negative here
if you have players like Vernon Davis or Jimmy Graham in their primes, yeah, you feature the TE position. Jordan Leggett? Seferian-Jenkins? not so much..
The reports on twitter are playing with my emotions. I absolutely don't want to believe this team will be anything other than what the media is predicting them to be.
ASJ was a 2nd round pick. Very talented TE coming out of the draft. To me, draft position isn't everything.
Drinking has been his problem, he looks on the way to fixing that and we will get a very talented TE. Who wouldn't some plays like this from a Jets TE ?
I was at practice today. Let's just say our dee will have a lot of confidence after going against this offense. I mean it was bad. Other then asj who stood out and Quincy we got zilch nada as far as weapons. the defense was hooting and hollering and having a good ole time. Offense was quiet and let's just say out of synch. Take it for what it's worth but that's what I saw today. Just one day but it thought petty looked better then the rest. Anyway our punter is gonna be our best weapon.
