the kid is a mess and makes you nervous back there fielding kicks but I will say whenever he returns it he runs with the ball like its the last time he will ever touch a football in his life. I like that
I like this signing. The Cowboys are regretting the hasty release. For those who don't know, Cowboys cut the him following a shoplifting arrest and failure to appear in court—both of which, it quickly turned out, were bullshit. Whitehead wasn’t even there; whoever the cops arrested gave them whiteheads name. The NFLPA has filed a grievance against the Cowboys and they are likely on the hook for the remainder of his contract.
I can hear them coming now, the fist shaking "why do we want a locker room disease" accusing people before they hear the facts. Just wanting something to gripe about. If that story shakes out we just won big. And if ASJ also works out, that's two positions of need filled from other teams castoffs.
The story already shook out. Police have said it wasn't him and was a mistake. That said, won big??? He likely was going to be a camp casualty for Dallas anyways... we're talking about a "3 receptions for 50 yards" in 2016 receiver. Perhaps has ST/KR value, but not exactly stealing a pro-bowler here.
Sure. We don't have a return guy, the one guy we were using as one is suspended, and his $615,000 salary is non guaranteed money. Then considering our teams situation and the fact that he's receiving the vet minimum, I would constitute this as a big win. Lets keep things in perspective here and realize that we are talking about a released player on waivers, not a top FA acquisition or anything.
