The other side of this coin is that if the NYTs is successful in its crusade to dig up dirt on Trump and force him out of office, he gets to (somewhat justifiably, in my opinion) claim he was martyred by the system and walk off handing the reins to Mike Pence. That's a real improvement, I tell ya.
If the dirt is there it's there and with Trump the odds are excellent it's there. Are you suggesting that the media and the public should give Trump a pass for some reason if it turns out that he actually committed crimes during his pursuit of the Presidency or after gaining office? Watergate happened because of a free press and a long crusade by one news outlet to expose crimes against Democracy. Without the Washington Post Nixon never resigns and American Democracy would have been damaged. The same people that were working the election in 1971 and 1972 would have been working the next one - now with proven tactics that worked and were likely to be used over and over again.
If some flunky in the Clinton campaign was given the same offer, I am convinced it would have been followed up on. Difference being Clinton isn't an amateur toolbag, and her people would have known how to insulate themselves from direct contact. I want to see a single concrete piece of evidence that actual votes cast here in the land of the free were improperly manipulated by someone in Russia. Donald Trump will be a colossal failure all on his own, because that is what he's always been. All this white noise regarding Russia is going to give him the easiest way out. You especially are going to love the Pence administration.
If Trump goes down under for treason, he doesn't go down alone. The entire fucking camp will go down in flames. That includes *GULP!* Mike Pence. Seriously, the entire camp cooperated with the Russians, but somehow Pence alone was left alone during the ENTIRE CAMPAIGN? Yeah. Like that makes perfect sense.
It's a damn shame people don't remember Billy Carter. Now there was a colorful character in American politics.
Has there ever been a better marketing slogan? "It's the best beer I've ever tasted. And I've tasted a lot."
Well it's not like this is the first of suspected Russian collusion in elections, Ted Kennedy asked for help defeating Carter in the primaries, former Sen. John Tunney made trips to Russia to visit the KGB and promised Kennedy would ease U.S. attitude toward USSR invasion of Afghanistan, if they help influence the election for Kennedy to win the primary. Tunney visited again in 83' when Kennedy was considering a run again to unseat Reagan. I guess Kennedy saw Reagan as a greater threat than the Russians. No votes, in that election, were manipulated by the Russians, as far as we know.
So much for getting rid of Obamacare...if only republicans could come up with a viable alternative...
I hope they get rid of it. We have way too much morons in this country. Getting rid of healthcare is probably the most humane way to get rid of them.
The real problem with Trump is his financial connections to people in Russia which will compromise his decision making. That's why we need his tax returns. https://newrepublic.com/article/143...ses-dirty-money-international-crime-syndicate "The feds wanted to arrest Ivankov, but he kept vanishing. “He was like a ghost to the FBI,” one agent recalls. Agents spotted him meeting with other Russian crime figures in Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, and Toronto. They also found he made frequent visits to Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, which mobsters routinely used to launder huge sums of money. In 2015, the Taj Mahal was fined $10 million—the highest penalty ever levied by the feds against a casino—and admitted to having “willfully violated” anti-money-laundering regulations for years." Ron
They can't. They hate the mandate the most, but you can't provide insurance for all the sick without it. So Trump's only hope is to blame it on the Democrats, McConnell, Ryan, anybody but himself really, and hope his voters don't realize or don't want to realize the truth.
Let's give credit where it's due. Trump accomplished something Obama could never do: make the ACA popular.
The problem isn't Trump. Case in point? Republicunts have been bitching about Obamacare for 7 years. 7 FUCKING YEARS. They have been boasting how bad it is without an alternative. Seriously - they had 7 fucking years to sleep on it. This bill is the result. TL: DR "Republican" means: 1. Obstructionist 2. "Blame the other side" 3. "Not ready to do a damn thing"
