First time I haven't watched the trophy presentation in a long time. I don't see how history can remember it as a legit championship. Only the NHL could find a way to fuck up a great series that people were saying was better than the NBA finals. All that goodwill gone with one dumbfuck ref.
I didn't watch the presentation. I was hoping someone kept a catfish in their backpocket for possible use in such a situation. Then they could've thrown it at Bettman during the presentation. You'd have to scour the section for someone with a good arm. Dreadful ending to the season.
More like a terrible series. Nashville ROBBED Game 1 and Game 6. I remember how much Super Bowl XL drove me nuts due to poor officiating, but this series was much worse. Hard to take the sport seriously. I understand why it is a niche sport and will never catch on, because people give it a chance and are given that. Awful. The 2016 Penguins were a great team. They found a way and won the cup. The 2017 Penguins were not very good and injured. They looked Dead Game 6 against the Caps. Then the Caps blew it Game 7. They were pathetic most of the Sens series, yet somehow escaped in Double OT Game 7, and then were CLEARLY outplayed by Nashville, but handed a Cup by the Refs. I get trying to inflate Crosby but it has been embarrassing to witness. Move on to 2017-18, welcome to the NHL Las Vegas!
McDavid wins Hart Trophy over Crosby, so not a total failure of an NHL Season. Fleury and James Neal head to Vegas. Caps lose Nate Schmidt to them too. I'd like to go to a Vegas game this year. Let the offseason begin!
Fuck ya McJesus!!!!!! Interesting expansion format. Teams could bribe Vegas to stay away from certain unprotected players. Vegas scooped FOUR first round picks last night.
Crosby shouldn't have won the Hart, Penguins can at least stay afloat without him. Oilers would revert to shit without #97, his presence changes everything. As for the Ted Lindsay award, that's voted on by the players, we don't have a say in that.
Point total alone 100-89 should have given McDavid the edge and it rightfully did. I agree though, he was more important to his team too. Crosby always wins no matter what though, so it was surprising and refreshing he didn't last night.
Lots of trades today. What the fuck is Arizona doing? Oh right they have a dude my age at the controls. Draft tonight too.
Snow continues to show his ineptitude, good centers are so difficult to come by, now that Strome is playing better under Dough Weight, he trades him. I like Eberle, but can you give Strome a full year under Dough weight before shipping him off?
