So it's 2-5 protected. If they don't get the pick, they get the following year first round pick not protected.
The Bos trade tells me that Danny is not sure who they are keeping at G right now. IT, Bradley and Smart won't be on this team forever... IT is going to be a max, Bradley is going to command I would say somewhere around 22 mil, and Smart will easily make Evan Turner money (17 mil). That's too much money tied into those three guys in my opinion. Next year there will be a lot more clarity when contract talks with IT and Bradley begin.
76ers burning a future high first rounder to jump 2 spots. Doesn't seem like the smartest move but whatever
Just won tickets to the draft tomorrow night. I have my "Fire Dolan!" t-shirt already washed and ready to be worn for tomorrow night.
good trade for the Nets. Grabbing De'Angelo Russell for almost nothing. perhaps I'm the only person here that will admit he cares about the Nets
I don't see anything in D'Angelo Russell other than a spoiled kid... If there is anything that can shock him into gear, hopefully it is a trade to the worst team in the NBA. He deserves to be on that team. If he gets his head straight, he can be a great player.
I think his "maturity issues" are overblown. He was a 19 year old kid joining the good ole boys club in Kobe Bryant on his unofficial "jerk me off tour" and Byron Scott. And those assholes threw him under the bus. His biggest crime? filming a teammate bragging about cheating on his wife. Of which he's apologized profusely. Wow, how awful. I worry more about Russell's defense. He's already a dynamite offensive talent, 21 years old. But he's gotta improve his defense
That's a pretty good assumption, but I really like their coach and GM. Nets, once they weather the storm in terms of picks, they should be able to become a decent team in 3 years or so.
I mean yea, what Nick Young did was sickening, that doesn't give Russell the right to do what he did. He also did not do it for a good reason, so lets not act like it was done with nobility in mind. He did it because he was pranking a friend, and it was way over the line on all fronts. I can't remember something worse to team chemistry that has happened since Smith got his jaw broken... And that wasn't even during the season. He has a shit ton of growing up to do before he becomes the player he should be. Usually with growing up comes more defensive effort.
My favorite player of this years draft has always been De'Aaron Fox out of Kentucky. Freshman PG. But i see no way possible that he'll still be on the board @ #8. Imo there is no way Fox gets past the Sacramento Kings @ #5. I'm also in awe of Dennis Smith Jr. Freshman PG out of NC State. Imo he's the closest thing to Russell Westbrook in terms of explosive athleticism. But i can't lie after seeing what has happened to Derrick Rose over the years? His ACL injury scares me a little way too much. But i'd still be estatic with Dennis Smith Jr. He could become an NBA scoring machine with crazy athleticism With that said the player who i want most is Frank Ntilikina. This kid is only 18 years of age with great size at 6'5 along with over 7'0" of length and has freakish defensive potential with two-way upside. As long as Phil does not trade away K.P, i feel and believe that Ntilikina & Porzingis can develop and become a very special PG/Big Man duo for many of years to come moving forward. Reminds me a little of Giannis Antetokounmpo in terms of the way the play the game as taller PG's. But then again. Dennis Smith Jr would be so much fun to watch alongside of Porzingis...
And during the 2nd round we'll have two picks. I want a SG there. Especially one of either Josh Hart out of Villanova or Tyler Dorsey out of Oregon.
