C'mon Matt... Wischusen (sp?) is the best announcer we've ever had... I guess you don't remember the horrible Marv Mcgwire days..ugh. Also, this was TV. Bob is our radio guy.
Speaking of radio broadcasts, does Marty Lyons still do color commentary? If so, does he still sound like he inhales on a helium balloon before each sentence? I wish 90% of the TV commentary would go away. They seem to think they need to speak constantly. It isn't radio guys, we have pretty pictures to look at.
Merle Harmon, Sam Deluca, Charlie Steiner, Marty Glickman, Dave Jennings, Randy Rasmussen were all better than the screamer, I hate him, just my opinion Royal
I do remember watching this game - one of the rare few Jets games broadcast nationally due to the "rarity" of the game. Was actually hard to keep track of the game - I actually missed having announcers.
I remember Tom Newton, upset after having dropped a pass, jumping up smacking his hands and shouting "DAY-AM!!" You could really hear it since they had the field mic'd. I liked the novelty of it, but was never sure if I cared to experience that again. We won that one, no?
There suddenly seems to be a lot of NFL games on Youtube again. There were loads a few years ago but the No Fun League cleared them all out. I'm going to download as many as I can while they're still up there!
I do remember the game, I remember Bryant Gumbel commenting during timeouts with his constant puss on acting his usual egomaniac self. This would have worked much better if they had information rolling about the game on the bottom of the screen, down, yds to go, offensive setup.
How many threads is this guy opening at one time? Too many of you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Prior to the game everybody thought it would be great without announcers and in reality it was terrible. You couldn't look away for a second without the chance of missing something and then when you looked back you had no idea what just happened.
I remember watching it also. I liked it tho, and wanted to see it done more often. They really should do it now on every single ESPN broadcast...Sportscenter too. I might actually watch then
