He was a great receiver. Good hands, separation, and sharp rout tree running. Hope all our WR's play as well as he did.
I was too young to remember him as a Jet but I do remember him as an Oiler having a huge game against the Jets at Shea in 1980...........made a ridiculous circus catch on a bomb from Stabler.
A big wide receiver who went long, Namath loved chucking the Bomb down the sidelines to him. In the gam where Namath threw for 496 yards against Unitas I think Caster had 200 yards receiving, Namath threw for 496 yards on 15 or 16 passes.
He was a TE who flanked out wide, great size and speed, terrible hands, Broadway Joe's favorite target in his later years
Disagree ...he has poor hands when he came into the league and got much better with time. he had WR speed and could run like a cheetah.
Sorry but I'll disagree, he let Joe down so many times, he could have been a HOF'er like John Mackey but he dropped so many perfect throws, just my opinion Sojaz
I was in elementary school when I wrote new version of "Casey at the Bat" which I entitled, "Mighty Caster Dropped the Pass". Enough said.
I knew Caster as one of the few bright spots in the early to mid 70s era..didn't know about the speed vs no hands deal. Sounds alittle like Johnny Mitchell..with a bit more productivity
