We'll take Ovechkin off your hands for Stepan and a bag of jock straps If those terms don't work then we'll just take half a bag of jock straps for Stepan
I'd say Ovechkin. He still hasn't been to a Conference Final. Henrik has been to the Stanley Cup Finals. Ovechkin is getting way too much blame from the media and fans today. It is as if people have no clue how hockey works. It's a team sport. The entire team was invisible last night. You want to put some blame on your Superstar Captain, that is fine, but it is not like the Penguins stars did anything either. The 2 goals were scored by Rust and Hornqvist. That is why the Pens won the cup last year and could this year. They get production from everyone. Crosby was literally invisible in last year's Caps series but the Pens won in 6. Ovechkin was on the ice for the 2 goals last night but that hardly qualifies as his fault. More like bad luck, which sadly the Great 8 has had alot of the last decade.........
yeah makes sense right after they lost guy spent wednesday posting about how Karlsson sucks and he'd be a healthy scratch if he played for Washington or Chicago. CONGRATS CAPS @orpiksbetter Tom Wilson is a 2-time President's Trophy winner and Stanley Cup Champion. Only one day off for Anaheim after winning Game 7. Game 1 Friday night. Eaves and Bieksa missed Game 7. vbetting for Stanley Cup: http://forums.theganggreen.com/sportsbook/2017-stanley-cup-after-conference-semis.108/
Ovechkin not playing at Worlds due to injury. It was pretty obvious he was hurt after the Kadri play. Instead of seeing the obvious and being proud of his courage and determination to play, he gets thrown under the bus by people. It is still no excuse to lose the series to the Pens though, as I feel the Caps were deep enough to win. Ovechkin was not himself after that hit though. Still had 2 goals in the series.
Fortunately for Anaheim there is no travel for them so they should be able to rebound quickly, but they certainly benefited from the extra day between game 6 and 7. Preds knocked them out in the first round last year in their now previous game 7 choke job.
Anti-Ovechkin narratives are pathetic. I felt he was clearly playing injured and now it has been confirmed. He is one of the best players of his generation and made the NHL 100 for a reason. Stanley Cups, like Super Bowl rings, are team awards. His teams have just not been good enough when it mattered most. I have watched his whole career. He always steps up in big moments. It seems Holtby, Ovechkin, Oshie and Backstrom have been given the blame for this Penguins series loss. Each one of them could have played better, but there were many reasons why the team lost. The Penguins played better defense, by far. Marc Andre Fleury stepped up and made some key saves. The Pens capitalized on opportunities, the Caps did not. Their goals Game 7 were scored by Rust and Hornqvist. Not Crosby, Kessel, Malkin, etc. That is how team sports work. Mr. Game 7 Justin Williams was invisible. That is life. Blaming Ovechkin is stupid though. It makes it sound like the person talking doesn't understand hockey. If someone said Crosby was Out Game 4 and the Penguins won, but he came back Game 5 and 6 and the Penguins lost, he must suck, that would be pretty stupid logic. It's how people think these days though.
http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nhl/hockey-player-news Though the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators haven't been major rivals for a while, Sidney Crosby remembers a time earlier in their career when they were. Pittsburgh and Ottawa met in the playoffs in 2007 and 2008 with each team taking one of the series. "They had (Zdeno) Chara and (Anton) Volchenkov and (Chris) Phillips, and these guys were like no D men I'd ever played against in the past," Crosby said. "Huge, huge guys that were physical. I just remember getting up for those games, knowing you had to earn every inch of ice out there. I got excited for that." That was Crosby talking about the greatest rivalries the Penguins have had during his career and it was a quote given earlier in the season. Now Pittsburgh is up against Ottawa again, this time in the Eastern Conference Final. It might be different than the Senators of a decade ago, but after they got past Boston and the Rangers, Pittsburgh needs to take this Senators squad very seriously. Justin Williams is very disappointed in how the Capitals' playoff run ended. "This one has been the hardest one to take because of where I am in my career and being so sure of something," Williams said of Washington losing in Game 7 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Williams was added to the Capitals prior to the start of the 2015-16 campaign in the hope that his presence might help propel the Capitals in the playoffs. After all, he's been a part of three Stanley Cup championships and has a reputation for stepping up in the postseason, so if anyone could end Washington's run of disappointing postseason performances, you'd think it'd be Williams. Unfortunately he couldn't save the Capitals and now he's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent. He'll turn 36 on Oct. 4.
Check out this rant on Ovechkin by a Russian/American hockey writer who claims to have known him since he was 17. I dunno, seems like it's personal. Ovi prob stole his girl in high school.
Looks like I embedded that kind of wrong. Anyways he goes on for like 12 more tweets. Interesting take.
first odd man situation in the entire game is a Bobby Ryan breakaway. He puts it away. Ottawa wins 2-1.
