So obstruction of justice followed by resisting arrest, while backstage at a concert. I think I'll wait for those emerging details before passing a judgement.
that's a good guess but Sheriff Goodell's kangaroo court takes awhile. There are a long line of offenders the Sheriff's got to rule on before he gets to Robby. He ought to be fine for 2017. maybe he'll miss the opener in 2018.
This is why BPA rules. If we'd taken only one WR or none in the draft we'd have a huge question mark staring us in the face right now. You never know what is going to happen with your players from game to game and season to season. Having the best possible players is the best way to deal with that uncertainty.
Seriously. I think this is the second time Mac made draft picks that seemed baffling at first glance only for some shit like this to come up shortly after. I credit him on his foresight. Hopefully the picks don't suck. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Obstruction of justice & resisting arrest w. violence...you have to figure one of the charges will be thrown out...perhaps a 1 game suspension..more likely a hefty fine... Not good...but at least there was no assault/battery,etc...
Yep....the very concept of "drafting for need" suggests leaving a more talented player on the board...which means you are undermining the hard work your scouts do evaluating guys all year long & all the work that goes into building a big board. Obviously there are exceptions where you need to draft for need. But can we finally stop trying to build a team on paper and try to build a well rounded roster?sticking to the big board almost never fails on a long term basis...and if it does..you know you have a evaluation or big board problem. You draft on need...it's alot harder to pinpoint where your scouting infrastructure problems reside beyond the very notion of drafting for need!
Agreed. If you are a player or two from a SuperBowl, go ahead & reach for a need. Otherwise accumulate the best young/cheap/controllable talent possible, and fill need via trade or free agency.
Fixed that for you. IMO this is why one should want the best character players one can get. With those types, one doesn't have to wonder what's going to happen from game-to-game or from one season to another, at least from the perspective of getting in trouble with the law. There are enough variables and problems with injuries that are unavoidable and part of the game. That's why I think it nuts to add questionable character into the equation. They can turn a promising season into crap over night. Evidently, Mac has been more willing to take some players with questionable character than we thought. We don't have all the details, but if guilty, I can't believe Anderson could be so stupid. Getting violent with police is beyond stupid. A misdemeanor is one thing, but a felony? If guilty, that probably should be the end of his career with the Jets unless there are some kind of mitigating circumstances.
