Wife had the 12 across the board but i lost worth my 3-8 exacta box.

10 looks good in the 8th but won't pay much so ill just go with the 3 and 6 across the board. Wife betting long shots also with 14 across the board.
I could probably come out a little better if i didn't feel a need to mostly bet the long shots

Waited to see what the weather will do and it seems like it shouldn't do too much at all to affect the Derby. Having said that, I'm not really feeling it this year (who is?) but am staying away from Classic Empire because 1) He's crazy and might take the day off and 2) He had a cracked hoof earlier, the 1 1/4 won't help that.

That leaves Irish War Cry as the people's favorite but his name alone will draw down his odds even further. Many of the experts have been honest enough to admit this could go anywhere so most of my meager input is in Superfectas pulling in some longer money horses. Chances are I won't be smart but I usually buy Lotto tickets anyway. So here's my top five in order:

    17 Irish War Cry
    8 Hence
    5 Always Dreaming
    10 Gunnevera
    1 Looking at Lee

If it hits that way I'll spend the summer in Europe and the winter in the South Pacific.

McCraken, Gormley and Irap could have been in it just as easily as the last three above.

    Good luck to all.

Still raining but not as hard, track is running faster for the early races today. Sloppy but still in ok shape considering. They expect it to start tapering off around 2 and the track drains good so it'll still be a little sloppy but not terrible.

Surprised the track still looks bad and may have some more showers coming. I'm sticking with my original bet, exacta box on mccraken and irish war cry

Showers are back. Just overheard bookie call in a bet for himself, big money on classic empire.

Edit: Have hail where I'm at now, about 5 miles from the track

Well I had the winner but other than that ,,,,,,,,god bless anyone who hit the exacta or triple or better----ps I need to rewatch it but it appeared to me as the turned for home # 10 Gunnevera was making a move on the outside but got pushed wider by the 2 inside horses and it messed up his stride

I am very surprised at the result. I thought it would be a race for the closers and no way thought Always Dreaming could lead and pull away like that. My big money trifecta bet was all closers: irish war cry, thunder snow, classic empire and battle of midway (my favorite long shot)

Although my long shot got in the top 3 and classic empire was right there, my hopes for an early retirement took a big hit when thunder snow got pulled up early but what the HELL happened to Irish war cry??

Some big money will probably be dealt out to some folks though with the longshots in 2nd and 3rd. I saw where a $1 superfecta paid out $75,000! too bad one of you guys didn't bet the kids college fund on that you could take the Jets off Woody johnson's hands and do us all a favor.

I would note that the boy who dresses like a pirate, the same child who called me out for commenting on the death pool without participating this time around, has now gone full hypocrite by commenting here without participating in any predictions. Quite the swashbuckler, that kid.
