New uniform numbers for the Jets: Jamal Adams -- 33; Marcus Maye -- 26; ArDarius Stewart -- 18; Chad Hansen -- 6; Jordan Leggett -- 49; Elijah McGuire -- 35; Dylan Donahue -- 53; Jeremy Clark -- 34; Derrick Jones -- 31. Some notable numbers among new vets: Josh McCown -- 15 (Brandon Marshall's old number); Morris Claiborne -- 39. Claiborne has worn 24 his entire career, Darrelle Revis' old number. No one has 24 or 74, which belonged to Nick Mangold.

Clearly Revis and Mangold should be the last to wear those numbers here

Chad Hansen 6? Is he converting to and answering our prayers at QB?

Yeah strange number. Haven't seen a Jets receiver with a number that low in awhile.

probably just pre-season as the rules say WR have to be a number in the teens or 80's.

If he makes the team, it'll be changed

They should ban that number. Not retire it, ban it.

Just ban #30 and #78. We're better off without reminders of Drew Coleman and W*yne H*nt*r.

    Retiring numbers is lame.

Nobody who saw the player play will ever forget him and 30 years later 99.5% of the people who didn't don't give a crap. I'd rather see a new 73 playing in a way that reminds me of Joe Klecko than have that number retired, which means I can never see a great play by 73 again - to go along with all the ones I saw out of the original.

The Yankees are going to wind up with 3-digit numbers some day due to their insistence on mummifying their ex-players via number retirement,

Or they could move to decimals.

  13. He's now the Reggie Jackson of this franchise.

The way he always put himself first...the year w. the Patriots..and the way he dogged out in his final year...I'm not sure this fan base will ever forget all of that.

He doesn't seem to care about making good despite his claims that he loves this franchise...He can go live at patriot place & piss off for all I care,

I honestly don't think he dogged it, I think his talent fell off a cliff. It happens, mostly to RB's, but it does happen. He had a very specific skill set that has eroded with age. Notice how no one else has claimed him yet? And can't blame him for the Pats. He wanted to come here first but Idzik didn't want him.

Revis is a pussy. I hope the franchise breaks off all contact and he is perma banned from all Jets events

I think that's a little harsh. For a time he was a great player for us. Solidified our defense and gave us hope. With out Revis on the team I don't think we make it to the conference game in 2009 or 2010. I understand your mad at the way things ended and the contracts he got and all but show some class. As far as calling him a pussy on what grounds. For a corner he was a decent tackler, never hesitated to get his nose in there.

Maybe pussy isn't the right word. He was an anti-social hermit that cared only about money. He was great, but he didn't give a shit about this team. He wasn't the face of this franchise by being a likeable, stand-up role model.

I thank him for 09 and 10. But other than that there is nothing I like about the guy. He is essentially Kayne West with a football helmet.

He left this team (we got shit in return) and he went and won a SB with our arch nemesis. Then we threw bookoo money at him to dog it and soak up the sun.

He is just not a person of value I want to see this team bring around for the next several decades. He is not respectable when the helmet comes off. Mangold, Chrebet, Coles, Pennington, Martin, D'Brick, Ellis, Woody, T-Rich, and Mawae are all stand up gentlemen that I would be proud to meet and shake their hand.

Revis was such a self-centered bitch. It was just a get rich scheme. Can't say I blame him. But I don't respect him because of his bullshit antics and hold outs.

For a corner, he was, until the end, a great tackler.
