one of these 3 are going to be a Jet by this time next year! I personally want Josh Rosen. He reminds me of Joe Flacco and a true pocket passer with a strong arm and excellent awareness I believe his game translates best to the pro level. Sam Darnold is also a special player that has an unbelievable arm and can make something from nothing. The only reason I prefer Rosen is that Darnold relies too much on broken plays to make big plays. Darnold reminds me a lot of Carson Wentz. Josh Allen is being overshadowed by Darnold and Rosen but this kid has "it". He reminds me of Aaron Rodgers with his arm strength and the ability to roll outside the pocket and make plays with his arm on the run. Who's your guy?
OK all the snaps of football this year combined won't be as important as landing our franchise savior next season.
So Rosen reminds you of Flacco, Darnold of Wentz and Allen of ARod, yet you want Rosen? Something seems off to me there.
Haha, this thread makes me laugh - but I understand it. I've been following this team a long long time, and one of my mantras has always been to try to see as many Jets wins as possible before I die. I never want to tank, I never pull for a result based on a pipe-dream of a better draft slot the next year etc. I laugh at the draft speculators... Until now. I don't WANT to lose games next year, but it's become obvious that management is planning beyond 2017, and for anything to really change in a big way it has to be through one of these QB's. Right now I'm a Darnold guy, but he could screw us by staying in school.
What would really screw us, is Hackenberg almost being a capable starter and winning 7 games. Getting us a pick outside top 10 and none of the 3 Franchise QBs... That would be heartbreaking.
Next year? I'm heading out to watch some Pop Warner QBs in anticipation of the 2027 draft. J-E-T-E!!!!!!
I'm setting the bar as low as possible for Hack. He doesn't have to be good or even average. He just needs to show that he's fixed his mechanics during the redshirt as in no more ground balls or air mails to wide open receivers; he's too talented to be doing that. He also needs to show me more poise in the face of pressure. He shows me consistent mechanics and poise then I'll be on board for more Hack in 2018 regardless of his stats and/or win loss record. Because I know he already has the measurables, arm talent and intangibles one would want in a FQB.
All I know is I'm all aboard the Hack train because I find it extremely unlikely that we are in position for Darnold and all the others are just ?? right now at least.
If someone from the future came back and told this board today that Hack and Petty will both develop into Hall of Famers, 3/4 of the posters on here would still advocate tanking for a QB in next years' draft.
Ive seen the future and its bleak for 2017 But thats ok since 2018 we can get a quality QB Josh Allen is a scrambler who makes things happen..not bad But I want DArnold first then Rosen please
Erm ????????? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_O'Brien He was not a fucking failure, it is the worst kind of comparison to make, damned lazy and a Jet should know better.
I think it's still fair to bemoan taking Kenny over Marino, even though he was one of my favourite players in my early years of following the team. A player of O'Brien's calibre would be something like a dream right now after the mediocrity we've put up with for so long.
Yes because those comparable are their ceilings and IMO Rosen floor is also Flacco. My point is i think he will be a solid franchise guy no matter what. Darnolds floor is Alex Smith ceiling Carson Wentz Allens floor is Johnny Football ceiling Aaron Rodgers Rosens Floor is Joe Flacco ceiling a better version of Joe Flacco
