I think we will be higher for sure. Still, won't score so we have that to look forward too. Won't stop anyone else's offense that's just a given. Oh and we still have Bowles so that should get us at least top three. Next year at least 6 QB's will be available and if they live up to the hype 3 have franchise potential. But Macc will take another defensive player because that's better value and "BPA".

With all due respect.....Cleveland has had 2 first rounder's, on and off, since time memorial and have accomplished dick. So that doesn't mean shit to us. We draft to make our team better...not make the other team worst.
As for your first sentence, well, we learned plenty. We need to build this team from the ground out with BPA, not just perceived need and stupid trade ups. How did Kevin work out for us with his blistering speed and a shit arm from Fitz to throw him the ball?. did that have an impact on the score? So if we over reached for a WR or TE or even more so a QB not even knowing what we have in-house would have resulted in a similar major step back situation. We would lose 33-10 instead of 21-3 with no hope for really long term improvement.
What happens next year in the draft is a big unknown. Look no further than what happened yesterday to see how some teams reached in desperation for QBs that in all likelihood will not see the field this year at all. May be never.

If that is the case, then the 3 QB did not have franchise potential, otherwise they will be BPA. Stop blaming Mac for sins of our past. How did the Sanchez pick work out for us? or many other Offensive players that are now gone into anonymity? BPSA assures you performance.
If an Offensive player is worth BPA you pounce on him, if not move on.

Assuming the FO makes the right acquisitions going forward........a big "if," if history is any judge.

It's a good pick. He'll be on the field A LOT next season. He'll probably get two years experience in one with the amount of three-and-outs coming our way.

Sanchez worked out pretty good. Twice went to playoffs and once one game from the Super Bowl. Have you seen that since? Defense has been drafted in the first exclusively since 2009 and how has that worked out? More importantly, how did that work last year? Just to give a recent reminder.

That's about the only stable position we have now with the Catman

Have them stitch "Richard" onto it. Then people will think you're funny and cool.

I may be in the minority, but I think that Mac and Woody are working on a longer timeline and KNOW we're not competitive this year no matter what. If they're both on that page, then you view this as a two year project where exploiting the overwhelming strength of this draft (defense, especially DB) lets us rebuild the back end this year and spend HEAVY on the offense in 2018.

Call me crazy but I just feel like Woody finally gained a little patience and might get it right ..

I would argue that during that period it was as much if not more the defense that got us there than the offense. We will not move to the next level till we find our QB, someone that can take the team on his shoulders. Sanchez was not it, and this year crop was not there either IMO.
We both have the same goal, but shifting to drafting O in itself is not the answer. Drafting the right O player with value is.

If that's their long term plan, then I agree, but if it's a short term experiment to see if Pryor can improve, then I disagree. Pryor is already on the team and was a #1 pick. It's in the Jets' best interests to try to find a way to make him work and maximize his value. Adams could help make Pryor a better player. Pryor had a very good season in 2015. If he doesn't improve, then the Jets can always get rid of him next season or perhaps at the trade deadline this season. They may already have plans to trade him today and to take a FS. It's a little early to be criticizing the move imo.

Rearrange the letters to "ropy" and represent the entire 53-man roster.

I will always be happy with a pick where it is universally liked. I haven't heard one report about this being a questionable pick.

Jets have drafted for all three layers of the D (DL, LB and S) the past 3 years.... Not the mention the D-linemen before that.

Fitzpatrick had a better 2015 than Sanchez had any year in his career.

Was there a playoff appearance from Fitzpatrick? In fact, Fitzpatrick has never been to a playoff game. Sanchez 2 Fitzpatrick 0
