I disagree. He's never played C and only played 3 games at OG. He's a project. Not everyone can play center and the QB-C exchange is too important to trust it to someone who has never played the position.
It's not a bad pick for Pittsburg. NFL bloodlines are a thing coaches care about - you'll almost never see a 'low motor' player with one, for example, and they've been exposed to the game at a high level from a young age. TJ was on my board for our second round pick. And there the 49ers wisely leapfrog NO to grab Foster and suddenly have a very real front 7. Buckner, Armstead, Foster, and Thomas.
He reminds me a lot of Cody Whitehair who I wanted last year in the second. He started at C day 1. Have to address Oline every year. Remember we need a QB next year too Fack Ramczyk gone!
The best available players (listed in no particular order, but by position). I bolded the players I want the Jets to choose from among. Sidney Jones, CB Kevin King, CB Chidobe Awuzie, CB Quincy Wilson, CB Fabian Moreau, CB Forrest Lamp, OG Jordan Willis, OLB Tyus Bowser, OLB Budda Baker, FS Marcus Sanders-Williams, FS Marcus Maye, FS Raekwon McMillian, ILB Chris Godwin, WR Pat Elflein, C Alvin Kamara, RB Joe Mixon, RB (probably not on the Jets' draft board) Dalvin Cook, RB Adam Shaheen, TE
This is something we will never agree on. I have watched Cook play in person since High School and the kid will do anything asked of him. He is an excellent receiver, a great running back , a team leader, humble, and loves the game. Knowing where he came from and watching him grow and mature has been amazing. The kid will be a special talent and whoever drafts him will be very happy to have him on their roster.
>Raiders & Conley will rape competition Conley:Rape >>Mahomes and Chiefs will kill competition So Mahomes:Murder? Bad jokes get worse when you have to explain them, but there you go.
It's fine that we disagree, but you're wrong about Cook being willing to do anything asked of him. Read the scouting reports on him.
I think there is enough CB depth left to target one in the 3rd. With Ramczyk off the board the run on OL will begin. I'd take a flyer on Lamp or Robinson, or look at a WR like Kupp.
No way. The 2nd round pick needs to start. Unless Lamp can play C really well, he will not start. He's never played C and that would be a big gamble. Robinson will be an OG or RT. He would probably start at RT, but not at OG. Hell no to a possession WR like Kupp. There are many players better at positions of need.
I'm aware there's worries about him off the field but where have you read that he isn't willing to do what's asked of him?
Quincy Wilson, Cam Robinson, Forrest Lamp, Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara would all be amazing selections tomorrow.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/dalvin-cook?id= There was another scouting report or article, but can't find it at the moment. Will keep looking. It said that his blocking attempts were half-hearted dives at the rusher's feet, and that he often whiffed. He also has ball security/fumbling issues. His character is bad. He's had multiple arrests. Walter Football claims that he hangs around with/his friends are gang bangers. Not good.
I don't have to read the scouting reports, I know Telly lockett, now the RB coach at Oregon State who coached him at Miami Central and as a FSU booster, I have heard Jimbo praise him off the record at luncheons. If his coaches tell me he was the kind of kid who did anything that they ask of him. I'll take their word for it over some scouting report. I challenge you to find anything that says Tell or Jimbo said Cook did not do what ever was asked of him, or any negative thing said by a coach from Central or FSU. I'll take what I have heard first hand from those sources over anything you may have read on bleacher report or even better, fucking Walter Football.
I like Godwin but think he will be available in round 3. At least I thought so before tonight. Definitely some surprise picks
