Yeah I could be stretching it .. I don't doubt he has skills but he's getting waaay too much hype. There's also something about him that makes me want to stay away.
we've been drafting defense and waiting for a QB for over 5 years. next year when we pick all the good ones will be gone and we'll be left with like an ILB or somehting and take him.
Jets need to try and make a steal. Use Richardson and or Pryor and get OJ Howard. I'd throw a 3rd rounder in.
True but the reality is that dude is a conundrum thats hard to place value on. Great talent with the potential to be suspended for the season at any moment. On that note ive been drinkin and used the word conundrum, so im tappin out
No. The Jets cannot afford to trade up. They need more picks, not less. Thank God, Mac isn't Tanny. Trading up would be totally stupid imo, especially when Njoku might fall to us.
jsut like we were gonna take them at 6? LMAO but joking aside I'd be all in for us to trade rich and land Howard right now
Also, we are almost back to having a horrendous defensive backfield and there's talks about not picking up Pryors option. Gilcrest will also need to be replaced. It's not a bad selection. If Pettenberg shows improve .. that high pick next year will reap us a multitude of picks .. and look at it this way .. the more D addressed now .. the more Offense that can be addressed then. IMO, we at least gotta give Pettenberg a shot first though in next years give me season, Mac and Co might just think they have a shot.
I have to disagree here. We've got a new OC coming from NO. When you get a piece like OJ Howard, you find a way to use him. THAT SAID I don't think he makes it to the 20s. The Redskins have a great TE already, but can Tennessee at 18 resist the urge to double-down by giving Marcus Mariota a fucking terrifying set of weapons? I don't know if I'd be able to (though one of Foster/Allen will make it past Washington...)
You wouldn't give up Richardson, our 2nd and a 3rd round pick for OJ Howard? Find that hard to believe. Comp picks are tradeable right?
i mean if we gave up rich and our 2nd for a 1st round pick and a 3rd it would be a pretty good trade and we can land howard and have more picks. just saying
Believe it!!! Howard isn't worth the Jets 2nd, a 3rd and Richardson. I especially wouldn't trade up for a player whose desire and love for the game have been questioned.
Your not far off. With Howard you betting on potential, not accomplishment. I keep seeing things like he is the best pass catcher, runs the best routes. Neither are true. He has the potential but was underutilized at Bama so both are a complete unknown.
he fell pretty hard. not a big need of DEs teams are going for QBs it's a QB league and WRs and RBs. lots of offense being drafted despite it being a deeper draft for defense which makes sense. lots more good defenders in later rounds then offensive players
