Perine is an excellent running back. I am surprised he isn't being talked about more. He's a guy who will carve out a role in this league in a dual-running back system and play for a long time. A reliable big "downhill" running back with hands that are underrated. Reminds me a little of laMont Jordan

And let me say that I am happy that Maccagnan has good character as a standard by which he drafts and brings in players. I know that this costs the Jets games. They could increase their talent level by expanding the pool of players. And I also know they have a few guys that have checkered pasts like Sheldon. But I like rooting for a team of guys who are also GOOD guys. Character is what makes a team.

Watch the Giants take Pat Mahomes at pick 23. It makes perfect sense. Would give the kid some time to reshirt and learn under Eli.

Let them. Mahomes is fools gold. No pro style offense experience. Doesnt work under center, and despite the arm strength he can be mechanically sloppy and heave up some awful Favre lol who cares heaves. He needs a lot of reigning in and may never make it

He definitely does not need to be reigned in. He needs to go to a team that won't try to change him and let his natural talent take over.

I don't care about his no pro style offense experience or that he didn't work under center in college. Had the same arguments about Mariota a couple years ago.

I really do find Webbs upside very interesting and I agree he might end up being the 2nd QB taken. But this draft is so deep which makes the value of these QBS even worse. I could see a couple if not most of the top 5 QBS dropping into late round 2 or 3.

Kizer certainly seems to be moving in that direction and Watson not to far behind. Mahomes and Webb seem to me to be the only QBS outside Trubisky that have much of a chance at getting drafted in round one and its possible none of them do. They all smell like late round 2 or 3 QBS to me but I do agree someone will reach. I just have a hard time seeing it happen much before Houston's pick at 25.

If they don't change a thing about Mahomes, that kid will be leading the league in interceptions right from the get-go. Mariota actually had really good footwork / mechanics coming out of the draft, in no way can you compare the two prospects. Mariota couldn't take snaps from center, but it was never just about the footwork, it was the reads and he still is struggling with it.

Also had the same arguments about Geno and he was a bust from day 1.

He can't overwhelm NFL defenses with just natural talent. He's not that good. He needs to play disciplined and within a system.

Mahomes is another spread offense dud. The NFL is not the sandlot.

This PFT report that one player expected to go in round one is a suspect in a sexual assault in Cleveland is concerning. As it could mean one of our potential round one picks could plummet. Assuming the report has any teeth it could be one of the big 3 from OSU. Lattimore, Hooker or Conley. Any thoughts on who it might be? I believe Lattimore might be from Cleveland.

I think Perine would be a good pick by the Jets. They need some youth at RB and they need a RB with power. He's a high character, hard working, team-first kind of player. The type of player that I believe NE has drafted that has helped make them so successful.

I was hoping someone would take Lattimore before us. But I agree of the 3 OSU players the one I want the least is Lattimore.

It's Gareon Conley but supposedly there are 3 witnesses that he was never alone with her.

Conley Ohio St. cb accused of rape. Wonder how much he drops. Was slotted from 15-32. Might drop to 4th or 5th round now with some teams taking him off the board.

2017 draft players with off field issues:

Reuben Foster LB Alabama: Diluted drug sample: Top 15 pick might drop back to the end of the first round early 2nd.
Jabril Peppers S/LB Michigan: Diluted sample: End of first to early second. Now sounding middle of second.
Gaeron Conley CB OSU: Accused of rape not charged. mid first to early second. Too early to tell how far will know more later.
Brantley Florida d-lineman accused and chraged with punching a woman. Late first early second. Possibility late round pick to not drafted.

48 hours out wonder if there are anymore to come. I hope not.

The Jets will decide on whether or not to pick up Pryor's 5th year option after the draft. According to the official twitter.

I think most of his Jets rumors have way off. I can emember his strong assertions that the Jets are signing Asmougah. Usually, we should be glad he us wrong. On this case I hope he is right about the trade down offers.

I would be onboard with Perine in the 2nd and Nate Peterman in the 3rd. Having an RB like him would help the offense and whatever trash we throw out starting at QB. I like Forte and Powell but both of them miss some games due to injuries. A banger like Perine could help. Macc had dinner with Ron Wolfe and asked him his secret. He said to take a QB every year. He had Favre and he drafted Brunell, Aaron Brooks, and Hasselbeck. They all can't play but you can unload them for draft picks. I hope Macc takes a QB somewhere in this draft, we might get lucky for once.
