The Pats had about $6mil guaranteed on Hernandez contract when they released him. I would love to see the family of Odin Lloyd get that money, and it's possible the Pats will just give it up. As far as the cap is concerned, that ship has sailed. The Pats never got out from the cap charges in the first place. The Patriots will carry cap charges of $5.092 million (up a little more than $1 million) in ’13 and about $7.5 million (up almost $3.5 million) in ’14, according to EPSN’s Adam Schefter. So, they will be charged upwards of $12 million on the salary cap for Hernandez over the next two seasons
Looks like he was smoking more than fake weed... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...nandez-secret-bisexual-life-article-1.3087455
I've read that there is a loophole in Massachusetts law that essentially allows Hernandez to die an "innocent man" in the eyes of the court. Since he was up for appeal but died before the hearing it clears him of the charge therefore protecting his money from the Odin family as they would no longer have the legal grounds to sue. Not sure how accurate that is but I do remember reading something of the sort it in an article a few days back.
I don't believe that Hernandez homo stuff myself. His scumbag lawyer is merely trying to paint him as a victim. Testing his brain for CTE and then saying his death and crimes were a result of being an oppressed homosexual?? Kinda sounds like they are going after the NFL
OJ was found innocent of killing his ex and Ron Goldman yet Goldman's family still won the wrongful death lawsuit. It would have been easier for LLoyd's family to win their suit than it was for Goldman's family. There was already a conviction of Hernandez and even if the jury was told that the conviction is wiped out they know he was still found guilty. All that is moot though since Hernandez was already found to be legally responsible for LLoyd's death in the wrongful death lawsuit, all they need to determine is damages now.
Your correct in the sense that since he died before exhausting the appeals process, he is innocent of the Loyd murder from the criminal sense, however the estate can and will be sued in civil court by Loyds family and possibly by the families of the other victims as well as the friend he shot in the head in Miami who survived.
Somewhere in the bowls of the media an idea is brewing.... How can we turn this into poor closed bisexual suffering from the cruelty of the bigoted society was driven to murdering his close-minded (probably a conservative-leaning deplorable) brother-in-law. A close-up BSPN special with Anita Marx coming to the blue screens this fall....
The 'macho' culture of the NFL and the sport of football in general is creating a toxic culture for homosexual men everywhere.Look at poor Michael Sam, kicked out of the league because he's gay. Now you have Aaron Hernandez driven to a multiple murders (allegedly) just to avoid the same fate.
