I think the Saints are candidates for trade up this year too. They just signed Adrian Peterson and have an aging Drew Brees with a window closing for another championship. If a defensive player they love is available at 6 they could be an option for us as well and we can package Richardson with the deal to get two first-round picks out of them.
Jets picking up Pryor 5th year option. This is great news and makes the chance of picking Adams at #6 slim.
Just because the declare it now does not mean he will be here. That year isn't guaranteed until the new year. We picked up coples' option and released him before it was on the books
Did they pick up the option? I read its still TBD from the presser We still need a safety or two either way
He gets a clean slate on July second. He won't be tested untill next season once released from the substance program. If he gets cought smoking pot after release, it's a first offense and just a fine, no suspension. Hopefully he keeps clean for the next 9 weeks.
I wouldn't doubt it. Mac and his wife lost a close friend to domestic violence. In an interview, Mac said several times that violence, and particularly domestic violence is something the Jets take very seriously.
They have not picked up Pryor's option and Mac was very noncommittal about whether they would or not. Kind of strange that they wouldn't. They can release him right up to the start of the 2018 league year The only thing is in the event of a catastrophic injury, they would have to pay him for 18 Update: Reports today 4/25 are that the team will wait until after the draft to make a decision on his option year. Could be that they are looking for a safety,or want teams to assume that is the direction they are looking
Don't think he would. He would try for reinstatement and then see who would sign him. Jets would still own his rights so it may be the only way he brings us a pick...... Lol
No problem. Hard to tell with message boards. As you said Jets luck he'll be here. The Jets need players who have good backgrounds and play football. They don't need players with questionable backgrounds who cause trouble in the locker room. Unfortnately when you have 53 players on a roster that is nealry impossible but the Jets need to limit it as much as possible and to help go in that direction Richardson needs to go.
There have been reports for quite awhile that the 49ers and Bears desperately want to trade down. Any talk of interest in Trubisky is just posturing. The same for feigned interest by the Jets. If the Browns do not take Trubisky it is unlikely he or any QB go in the top 25 barring a trade up to get ahead of Houston.
I agree it's posturing. Everyone in the top 6 wants out and more picks. With the depth of this draft it makes sense. Houston wants a qb and I think Buffalo, and Arizona will take a qb if the one they like falls to them. I think the Browns want to get in front of them to get Trubisky. I'd be shocked if they moved up to 2-4. 5 and 6 are in play to get ahead of those teams. Not sure about the Chargers or Panthers and trading but the Jets at number 6 is the best trade for a qb. I also think if Fournette gets to 6 (and I don't think he will) Carolina might be willing to trade up two spots for him. No one knows what will happen in the draft. Speculating and rumors are always fun. There are always players who go earlier than expected or a trade that surprises that throws a few things off. Always a fun and exciting weekend. Two years ago I think many trades were expected and nothing happened. I hope this year the expected trades happen. Always makes it fun. The top 5 will be interesting. If the Browns take Trubsiky or trade into the top 5 for him it'll be interesting to see what others do. Does Allan fall, Thomas, Fournette and Adams? I think if the Browns trade in front of the Jets the Jets will stay at 6.
The only chance the Jets have of winning more than a game or two this year is to draft a Fournette type RB but he won't be there at 6 and we certainly don't have now and will not draft a QB that will win us anything this year.
Watch The Ravens and Davis Webb. I would not be surprised to see Webb go off the board in a trade down scenario into the high teens low 20's by the Ravens. Steelers are also interested. Both would be grooming him behind their current QB with an eye on 2019.
Yeah, he'd try but the NFL teams are leery of reinstated players at this point. Josh Gordon was arguably the best WR in the NFL coming off his second suspension and he's just wasting years on the sidelines at this point because nobody believes he can stay clean.
