Can't beleive charlie murphy didn't get his own thread. True hollywood stories on chappelle were some of the better material. R.i.p. Charlie, probably underrated because of your brother
Certainly not that you deserve a reply but in case any adults are wondering the same thing here's why I chose not to participate this year after doing so a year ago. Most of the people named have had a good run in life and their passing is a sure thing, the timing may simply be up in the air, but we're all going some day. Last year my "draft slot" gave me the opportunity to find the big winner, which in fact I did but chose not to pick the terminally ill young third tier celebrity who I, like most here, only discovered through Googling "terminally ill celebrity" or some such identification. A ninety something true celebrity is expected to go and one could savor the bonus points as they savored the enjoyment that person gave us before they left but I decided I could not celebrate the passing of a young stranger. Even today, Erin Moran's preventable passing would have reaped someone the bonus and certainly came as no surprise but I couldn't be happy pulling in those bragging rights for a tee shirt when "Joanie Cunningham" or anyone else passed way too early in a manner that could happen to someone close to any of us. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be fun, but at times it wasn't for me. Characterize my statement any way you choose; I simply don't care.
Anyone with a modicum of reading comprehension would understand the apathy is a response to the characterization of the statement, not the pool as a whole.
It's laughable you trying to claim the high ground in a death pool with the "Last year my "draft slot" gave me the opportunity to find the big winner, which in fact I did but chose not to pick". You had a 28 year old and a 30 year old in your picks, both 3rd tier if not 4th tier celebrities so your claim of not picking a "big winner" that you "chose not to pick" because of their age is easily debunked. Not to mention of the 12 contestants 8 had an average age picked of over 64, only 3 contestants were below an average age picked of 55. Want to guess who one of those 3 was? That's right it's you, with an average age picked of 54.5. I will also mention that your picks, with an average age of 54.5, were shut out, while my picks, with an average age of 71.66, won it all. Edit: As far as your statement that Erin Moran's death "certainly came as no surprise", you would think someone with your acuity would never have gotten shut out with 6 picks and a whole year for them to kick it, but you did.
Certainly not claiming the high ground and certainly the bonus pick I passed on and you made was legit; none of that was a shot at you. Other than that I have no complaint with your analysis; it just wasn't enjoyable for me, tee shirt or not. I just don't think my not participating this year precludes me from commenting on those subjects who will come up over the year, regardless of what some of the near illiterate or brain dead here might have to say.
Jesus Christ can somebody just die already so I can stop checking this thread only to see whining, and pouting? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
