Now that the schedule is out we have sufficient information to forecast when the services of Mr. Bowles would no longer be required by the New York Jets. Many believe that date was some time in the last few months of 2016, others disagree.

I'm going with Monday November 13th after a dismal loss in Tampa Bay puts the record at 3 - 7 and no one involved seems to care.

After the season. Todd can lead us to the worst record in the NFL.

Why 2019? You think Bowles gets a pass this year? That's depressing.

I see Bowles either getting fired midseason or staying on for another 2 years. If they look like they're quitting on games again this year the no doubt they fire him. If they continue to "fight" even to like a 6-10 season, I can see him getting 1 more year to take a rebuilding team to 9 wins or more.

    He will last the year

As much as I don't like his coaching style / decisions / strategy / tactics / intellect / adjustments (lack of) / game planning / lack of accountability and overall veteran ball licking he seems like a nice guy.

But sorry, definitely not a football coach. Better suited to baseball.

With no expectations there be no point in firing him during the year. This is a true tank job.

As soon as the season is over. Now the big question is who replaces him? Do they stay away from defensive minded coaches or go offense for once in two decades. I wonder if they would be interested in New England DC Patricia? Too much bad blood?

3-7 would be an accomplishment with this roster.

He is the most laid back coach that I have ever seen. Which I wouldn't mind if we had a winning season last year...BUT MAN I miss Rex. Just imagine what Rex could have done with last season's defence...or even the 2015 team! I know Rex wouldn't have taken that pathetic performance that our defensive backs displayed last year

Why are people still under the impression that we need to have a better record than that at that stage, this is why the likes of Bowles pick teams to give them the best chance of winning, total impatience of fans, we are rebuilding are we not ?

I would rather they just tanked and got on with rebuilding over two or three drafts 0-16 would be quite fine with me and the number 1 pick, yes indeedy.

    Yep...

As much as I dislike that the Jets hired this buffoon, he will ensure a successful tank in 2017 with the poor play and bonehead calls...in short just let TB be himself and we move on in 2018

The tank started last year they just didn't tell the Jets fans. Now the question is how long will the fans be patient. Woody is out of the country playing fake ambassador so that tell you he don't care. They will have to show something or else whtever fan base is left will be at games with bags over their heads.

No they don't have to show something, if you are rebuilding it doesn't matter one toss if you win 0 games or 5 and we all know if you are rebuilding it may as well be 0 wins, the fans will still be there or they shouldn't be classed as fans, of course that is easy for me to say from the UK but as an aside I have been a fan of Manchester City all my life so in real terms 41 years, they won nothing in all that time until the last few seasons but I was still there waiting for the impossible to happen, I have been a Jets fans since the 80's, so the real moral of the story is I don't pick my teams to support very well do I :)
