I somehow overlooked @nyjetsmets89's post. Glad it was addressed. I thought from the beginning that Oilers-Sharks was going 7 and it definitely looks like it still. Tonight the Wild and Flames try to avoid eliminated and the Capitals and Bruins try to tie their respective series. Good slate.
Calgary just was not good enough. Should be a good series between the Ducks and the Oilers/Sharks winner.
Flames were undone by poor goaltending, lack of discipline in key moments and the fact their best player (Johnny Hockey) decided not to show up all series. This one reminds me a lot of the Winnipeg - Anaheim series from a couple years back where the Ducks swept the Jets, but that series legitimately could have gone either way. The Flames were the better team for large stretches and 5 or 6 Ducks goals during the series were deflected in off Flames. The Ducks play a mean style of hockey and are built for the playoffs. They'll be a tough out for anyone but they are dealing with a lot of injuries to the blueline. The Honda Center curse continues. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Flames started Elliott he made two saves, then allowed a goal, and was immediately pulled in a 1-0 game lol Pretty amazing the Ducks won without their best defenseman (Fowler) and with their second best D missing most of the series (Vatanen). If they don't get at least one back, I say they're going down to Oilers/Sharks victor.
Eichel to Sabres GM Tim Murray: If Blysma is here next year I'm going to leave Buffalo Tim Murray to Eichel: No Owner to Tim Murray & Blysma: You're both fired
Eichel vehemently denying it Bylsma had 9 million left on his contract and Murray signed a contract extension in October. lol
They're having a presser tomorrow morning about all this. Who knows what went on behind the scenes. it sounds like most of the team wanted the coach gone and they anointed Eichel as their messenger. Murray probably said no, then after it came out in the media how Eichel felt the owner got wind and confronted the GM. The GM probably said something along the lines of no player will ever tell me what to do and if Blysma is gone so am I. Don't really blame the owner for making Eichel happy he IS the franchise at this point
if Eichel really did go to the owner/GM then they were in an impossible position have to do everything to keep him but you can't have players dictating coach/GM
Canadian teams embarrassing themselves again. Calgary swept. Edmonton and Montreal down 3-2. Ottawa up 3-1. Toronto tied 2-2 but with two road games left, hard to see them advancing.
