    That doesn't make sense.

Only way Bruins could've avoided Washington was if Toronto failed to get a point at home against Columbus, who had nothing to play for.

    That's what happened.

Edmonton game and Anaheim game were at the same time so Edmonton didn't know whether Anaheim would win. Anaheim very nearly lost in regulation.

Then again, the Cavs in the NBA gave away the #1 seed by sitting their players the final few games. Some teams just don't value seeding/matchups. Edmonton and Nashville felt that as long as they made the playoffs, it made no difference what position, so they each scratched several healthy starters.

You're right. But the main guys did actually play, just reduced minutes. And the backup goalie got a start after a back to back night.

Nashville shuts out Chi town. Didn't see that coming. Caps come back on the Laughs. Good work.

    Go Ducks. Hahaha

yeah main guys played, but after no indications that guys would be sitting, regulars Nurse, Letestu, and Maroon were late scratches. Letestu is key for special teams, getting a lot of PP and PK time. Game 1: Nurse 18 minutes, Maroon 16, Letestu 18.

Here's how close the Oilers came to winning the division:

    http://www.espn.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400885625

Kings led 3-2 with 8 minutes and change to play, but the Ducks tied it and forced OT.

Pretty big difference. Would rather play Flames than Sharks, plus home ice at stake in second round.

After Canada missed the playoffs last year, Canada is 0-5 in the playoffs this year. Baby steps.

The first 30 minutes at Verizon Center last night were brutal. Honestly the worst I have seen the Caps play in years. Toronto played pretty good too. Somehow the Caps still won. They should be okay for this series, but they better shape up.

Rinne was awesome last night for Smashville. Should be some good games tonight too!

dirty POS Upshall attempts to injure Haula. Hit from behind sent Haula head first into the boards.

    STL/MIN tied at 1.

    NYR/MTL going to OT.

Too early to say that, as Minnesota is the better team, but definitely a bad start. Credit to Jake Allen for the first 2 games though. He has been great.

Tough loss for the Rangers, but they were pretty bad in OT. I assume they were just tired or something cause they left Hank out to dry literally the entire OT.

Pens take 2-0 lead and are doing what I expected against a completely overrated Columbus team.

Now time to see if the Oilers can tie up the Sharks at home.

That was probably the safest bet in the playoffs.

I can't even enjoy the prospect of Nashville beating the Hawks without the aggravation of knowing Laviolette should have never been fired by the Isles.

UPDATE: Klefbom (leg) will play in Sunday's game in San Jose, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS: The blueliner left Friday's game in the third period, but according to Klefbom himself, he'll be ready to go in Game 3. With 38 points in 82 games, he has proved himself to be a solid two-way defender, and will be key in an Edmonton playoff run.

    As stated.

Also, Capitals catch another break with Polak out for the season.
