https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...-deshone-kizer-should-still-college/99989248/ Well, watch that stock go to crap.
Rex should be given credit for the Sanchez pick. The Jets scouting department was against drafting Sanchez. It was Rex who insisted and Tanny who caved. Somewhat similar to drafting Ghoulston. Although in that case it was different in that the Jets scouting department was not just slightly opposed but adamantly opposed to drafting Ghoulston arguing he was not a football player but Mangini insisted and Tandy caved. Kind of ironic that Ghoulston could not get a sack and Sanchez specialized in sacking himself earning himself the nickname Sackchez while becoming the all time NFL leader in fumbles per game after 4 years.
I agree, but I think this one might impact his stock due to off the field issues? Everyone loved Mark coming out. Good kid etc. Brian Kelly is messing with this kid.
After reading the article, it doesn't sound bad at all. Kelly was positive and spoke with Kizer about it and helped him find the right agent and trainer to get ready for the NFL.
Brian Kelly ought to concern himself with the 'fire kelly' whispers at South Bend that are only going to get louder should ND repeat 2016. But in typical Brian Kelly fashion he'll also probably figure out a way to lay blame elsewhere ("well, it doesn't help that we lost our QB.")
A look at Kizers completion percentage should be enough to convince teams he's the 4th best QB in this draft, if not worse.
The more tape I watch of Kizer the more I like. He's got it all and reminds me a lot of Cam Newton/Big Ben. He is definitely boom or bust but his ceiling is the highest in the draft.
I actually agree with this, he knows the pro offense, can set this feet and make any throw in the NFL especially in tight windows especially in the red zone. He's a better thrower then Cam Newton. I watched a few games, his playing style reminds me of Daunte Culpepper. Size, rocket arm, some mobility. Culpepper was one tough SOB too. I see that in Kizer as well. I would take him in the 3rd to be honest, he won't last that long. Maybe second round depending on circumstance.
Brian Kelly's over-reliance on Kizer, and he Kizer didn't handle the pressure well in the pocket. He gets the happy feet, leads to bad decisions. He's got a lot of skills you can't teach, but I bet there are certain Brown fans that would love to pick him up with that 2nd first rounder they have. He and Hue Jackson would be an interesting combination.
