If I have to sit through another shit season, with another stopgap QB...

Cutler would've been a lot more fun than downer McCown.

Now go head and tell me how Hack 'n Petty would have beat him out in camp.

Last I saw of McCown he was in the process of shredding the Jets defense before thinking he could fly and getting his eggs scrambled.

Just go 0-16 and get the kid from USC. I don't give a shit who plays QB. I have no interest in next season

Except for the whole destroying the cap thing, sure! Why not stunt our future for a higher grade of lulz?

Hack and Petty will play much more than what we may take out of this signing of McCown. That would be fun to watch - see how much they progress, go 0-16 then decide on who to draft in 2018.

Worst idea ever....I guess your not a fan of developing our youth. He would cost to much and just makes 0 sense in a rebuild. Not trying to be a dick but how great would it be to really see if hack has it. Sink or swim so to speak. We then can fully understand where we use our draft picks next year regarding burning a first round pick on a qb.

The difference is that Cutler would be the starter. Despite what the FO says about McCown, he didn't come here to start. So that should indicate the Jets are looking to go one of two ways for QB right now. 1) they are ready to turn the keys over to either Petty or Hackenberg, or 2) they have their eye on one of the top three (or four) QBs in the draft. If they were considering an older QB vet like Cutler or Romo, doubt they would have let go so many roster vets. If they were considering a younger FA FQB they would have pulled the trigger on Glennon, Foles or even Kaepernick by now.

if the OP is referring to Jay Cutler the bodybuilder, then yes we should've signed him. Cause it wouldve been funny.

Jay Cutler the average (at best) QB? no thanks. He would BE the stopgap QB and is not the answer.

We're gonna suck this year, just get that in your head. This is what a true rebuild is.

After having Chad Pennington getting injured every other play, it would be fun to have a QB who could just bounce defenders off him. We could give him a superhero cape. I'm all in on this.

Yeah you make a good point, let's shoot for mediocrity to get that 7-9 record so we can do it all again the next fucking year too

Jay Cutler costs more and sucks. Why would I pay more for a crap QB if I can get equal player in Josh McCown

I wanna see "the Hack" play too, but unless he made enormous strides in the off season, he wont beat out McCown. Petty? Please........

Signing Cuttler is the worst possible move the Jets can make. Not only will he have to be a starter, his back won't last very long with our OL in front of him. A wasted post.
