He's always in the dog house. 'F This game Bruh' snapchat, fights with Brandon Marshall, etc the list goes on and on. He's got a great motor and he plays with passion no doubt, but I've been waiting for this breakout season for Sheldon for about 3 years now and it hasn't happened. It's Leonard Williams defensive line now. Wilk not nearly as explosive as Sheldon, but still always seems to end up generating more pressure and gets more sacks at the end of the day. I hope Bowles puts Mo in as a 1 gap DT going forward in a 4 man front, no more of this outside DE roles on every down. Let him and Leonard dominate from within and get some speed on the outside to compliment it. That way you are sending 4 to the QB and not 6 to 8. Mo has been on the All Pro 2nd team twice. People gotta put some respect on his name.

Should Mo play like crap next year he's going to get cut and the realization that we go on without Snacks, Mo and Sheldon will be a reality.

Leonard Williams is better. I respect Sheldon as a player, but he's not a good locker room guy. We need to purge the team of bad attitude players like Richardson and Pryor. Revis was already let go, same with Marshall.

It's actually been 2 bad years now and Bowles is playing him out of position because he has no where else to play him. Mo and Williams have the position locked up and Richardson, due to his off field issues is the odd man out.
The reported offer from the OP is a 4 the round pick this year and a higher conditional pick next year.
2 picks plus a desperately needed $8 million or nothing.

As much as Wilkerson sucked last year not living up to his payday he was just coming off of recovery from a broken leg and if I remember correctly everyone not named Leonard Williams sucked on the jets D. The whole locker room was a mess. I think the jets are taking a page of the Patriot way in fazing out players who feel they are bigger than the team or have off field issues and Richardson qualified for both. Those just don't fit into a rebuild with young players. Wilkerson has played at a consistent high level other than the one year of returning from injury...I expect he will be back to form but Richardson has to go ... Unfortunately he's a top talent that is going to waste.

Your right but he is now the odd man out. He walks next season and we get nothing in return unless you feel it's worth paying him 14 mill to ride the bench or play out of position.

We have spent 2 years trying to utilize Richardson's talent. He either plays out of position and struggles or you move Mo or Williams out of position and have them performing poorly.
Richardson would have been signed and Mo traded but 2 strikes later and his value is gone.
Odds are if Mo or Williams are traded, Sheldon catches another case and is suspended for a season. Then we watch Mo or Williams in the pro bowl on a different team.

Agree Richardson has to go but as far as taking a page from the Patriots play book , Mo would be gone faster than Sheldon if that were the case.

    What about Mo?
His attitude sucks. Has been late for meetings going back to 2014. Showed up out of shape, gave zero effort most of last season. Just trying to figure why everyone gives him a pass.

Tell me how they should use him.
Who do you move to play him where he belongs? What is your solution?

    What about Mo:

    You see that AV score?

Let's compare that to a Cameron Jordan:

    Sheldon Richardson:

Mo has easily been the better player throughout their respective careers so far. Both Mo and Sheldon were late to meetings since Rex put down a players environment that allowed you to do pretty much anything you wanted.

    Amen......
There's next to no chance we get a compensatory pick for him.
Plus we need the cap space. He can be traded with out creating a hole in the roster and if the reports are accurate a 4th this year and a higher conditional pick next year would be a third conditionally higher. It makes sense. He'll that 3 Rd or better next year may be what it takes to move up for Donald or Rosen if Hack doesn't prove himself this year.

Try comparing their first 2 seasons. Richardson has been out of position since.
Can't compare his last 2 years.
And just so you know, the stats are incorrect. Richardson During the 2014 year, had 66 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 pass defended, 1 forced fumble, and 1 safety enforced. Compare his AV since you feel it's the be all, end all. 19 vs 10 . Now go try to find some other bullshit to support your erroneous claim.
Also had 2 rushing TD as a rookie
And no, Sheldon began to routinely show up late last season.
They did both have driving related arrest though.
Wilkerson crashed, Richardson is even a better driver than him.

Nope using the full body of work here. You cannot ignore years to sway your opinion. Mo's AV hit 16 twice which in those years he was 2nd team all pro. Tell me when did Sheldon accomplish such a feat? Oh he didn't? STFU then. FULL BODY OF WORK. Mo was also hurt in 2014 the year Sheldon had a good year. 4 games missed.

Are you legitimately saying what Sheldon did was about as equal as Mo? Sheldon with a gun in his car driving 130 with weed. WITH A KID.

BTW you can take your spoiled little attitude and shove it up your ass.

The only part I agree with is the last paragraph and that isn't going to happen.

No one has diminished his playing ability or said that he's a terrible player. That's solely your fabrication. In fact, we've criticized Bowles for playing him out of position and lessening his impact and value.

The fact of the matter is that no matter how great he is or may be on the field, he's a colossal headache off the field and cannot be trusted. He could screw up again and be suspended for a year and then his ability on the field won't mean squat. Call it "immaturity" if you like, but imo the man is flat out stupid. He doesn't learn from his mistakes. With the exception of the driving thing, he made the same kind of mistakes in high school and college that he's making now. And even though he hasn't screwed up since his last mistake, it was big enough to tarnish him for quite a while. Not only could he have killed his nephew or cousin or whatever relation the young boy was, but lots of other people as well with his stunt.

For the last couple of years Richardson has been crowing about money, about how Mo should be paid and how he's gonna demand to be paid huge $s. The Jets cannot afford to keep him. It's that simple. Williams will be re-signed and with his and Mo's contract, that's already too much tied up in cap space for the DL. In addition, the Jets don't need an attitude like Richardson's around all their young players influencing and affecting them. They finally got rid of Revis and his greed. If the Jets ever hope to develop a winner and even remotely emulate the Patriots' success, then they have to get rid of Richardson and have no more players with attitudes like his.

The reality is that the Jets need cap space and have limited ways in which they can get it. Richardson is the best and easiest way to get that cap space. I don't think he's part of the Jets' long-range plans, the Jets are undergoing a rebuild, and the W-L record this season doesn't matter. If they keep him, they will lose him next season and have nothing to show for it. Even if the get a pick, it won't be until 2019. It's much better to get a pick or picks now and let those players be learning/developing this season. Especially if they can get a deal like the one cited the other day where they get a 4th round pick this season, and a conditional pick next season that could escalate as high as a 3rd. The 4th round pick this season could be used to draft a starting RB, TE, depth on the OL or CB, or maybe even a QB who could wind up being . The pick next year could be part of a package to move up to grab a QB or LT. The evidence and facts are overwhelming.

Yes, it's a shame that things worked out the way they did and we have to lose a talented player, but it is what it is. It's his fault that this needs to happen, not the Jets'.

There simply is absolutely no logical reason to keep him this season.

i dont think hes getting a pass. the reality is that mo's contract guarantees that he is on the roster next season, and probably 2018 too ... sheldons current contract and his contract demands going forward make him the odd man out

Tony, they're not extending or signing SR long term. Sorry, but that's simply ridiculous.

No, not with his stupidity and attitude about money and other things. He's a cancer in the locker room and the very last thing the Jets need on a young team. He has to go.

SMH Read much? Evidently not, if you can read how it's been clearly and logically laid out in this thread why the Jets cannot keep SR and still make the post above.

Sheldon need some on be traded. He Dosent fit the system and by playing him out of position it weakens the team and his value. We all knew this when we drafted Leo, who is a better fit for our system and as a person. Sheldon could be a all pro talent as a 4-3 3 technique. We should target these teams out of the conference and take what we can get. This is in the best interest of the organization and Sheldon. Cut bait
