This board is incredibly divided on Hackenberg. I hear people saying they have no faith he will ever be good and others say that he can develop into a starter. I left middle ground out so the weasels that say "I don't think he will be good" but leave themselves an out by saying "but I'll be happy if he is" are forced to make a choice. Ignore the finality of the wording of the answers and just choose yes or no. This poll will be a way for people to either rub it in or eat crow depending on how Hack plays this year. Post which way you voted for the record. OWN your pick.
He can prove me wrong. Until then, I will happily say [No fucking way.] P.S. Davis Webb looks like a phenomenal pick at round 4.
I think Hack will suprise. I don't think he will be top 15 talent at least not this year but I think he has it in him to start.
#3 Choice NOT there: Impossible to judge on little or no sample of playing time Easier to comment on Petty,,,he had playing time....Bryce prob an NFL backup imo My choice was Faith given the 2
He'll win 19 of the next 20 VLTs while being league MVP 15 times. It's only 19 of the next 20 because next year he will just be getting up to speed.
If I had a choice of course I'd take the weasel answer. But since I can't, I voted he'll suck based on how bad he looked in preseason.
Please post which way you vote I know, I realize that. I just wanted to get a feel for who was in which camp. I thought from what I've been reading the poll would be resoundingly anti Hack but it turns out that camp just posts more.
Since they have been hiding this guy who can really say ether way the fact they are hiding him is not good
When you say at the time you draft a player that you expect to have that player sit for at least a year, and then said player sits for a year, that is not hiding the player. They knew going in they had some things they had to work on with Hack and that it wouldn't get done until the off season. That time is coming up so we will see what Hack has. If we don't see him getting any play time this season then maybe you can claim they are hiding him. Sure I voted, Yes I have faith in Hack., but the truth is I am just waiting to see what he has to show in TC and the coming season. I don't know how anyone here can truly claim they know he will bust or be top 15, just not enough to go off of yet.
He had plenty of chances to hit the field last season in meaningless games and they chose not to play thats not a good thing the reports are the he is a bust it just doesn't look good now train camp will be the real test
But all along they said the intention was to have him sit, why is it such a shock to you when they actually had him sit. He was 4th string for half the season and 3rd string the other half, so putting him into that final game without getting meaningful reps would have done nothing to help his development. It would have only hurt it. There may be some reports that he is a bust but there are also some that say the Jets see his potential. I do agree that this TC will be the real test, trying to make a call on his entire career before that time is just throwing darts.
This is bad management in action imo. TB could have put the kid out there in garbage time during any of the team's many losses especially games 15 and 16 of the Season Instead Toilet keeps Shitz playing for that elusive 6th win ...SMH MM should have also manned up too and see how good or bad Hack is and told TB that...Instead we have the Lost 2017 Season to determine what we should have seen in 2016??? Strange plan in action... The whole setup suxs terribly when your GM and HC don't have to listen to each other...brilliant move Woody jmho
