I'm with you honestly. But I also don't hate the notion of a reset. I don't think it's a tank in the sense that we are trying to lose, I think we will use this season to develop players and losing comes with that.

If you're still hoping for playoffs in 2017 you need to re evaluate things pal. We're gutting the team and focusing on the draft, we will probably be shitty in 2017.

Mccown is not a good QB but he's viewed as a good teacher and could help Hack and Petty. And should be cheap.

I certainly wouldn't call it tanking just evaluating players that have potential so you know who is going to contribute and who needs to go. If that happens to land you an early pick then so be it.

You have got to evaluate your young players sometime, so why not do it now. We don't know what we have at Q/B until we give them a chance to play - we all know we are not going anywhere near the play-offs this year, so lets at least get something out of the season and see what we have on our roster.

If we have nothing, fine, at least we know but who knows we could unearth a diamond in all that rough out there!

Lol true I would view that situation like the texans. They built their team up pretty good and all they need is a good qb to take them far into the playoffs. But good QBs aren't really hanging around on the market

I'm fine with signing McCown, but if he's starting Week 1, I'll be furious. He also shouldn't keep us from drafting a QB.

we need to draft another qb to keep the competition theme going, petty shouldn't be guaranteed a spot at this point.

McCown is known to be a mentor for young QB's, let the kids play and make us eat our words.

MM stated that he believes in drafting a QB every year .. look for Peterman to be drafted in the 4th. My prediction. Maybe even in the 3rd.

If they draft a QB this year, then I expect Petty to be cut right away. Can't have 4 QBs on the roster again ... Hack 2017, McCown the backup and rookie QB drafted in the later rounds.

I read that a few places as well, here's one:

"Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that there’s serious enough interest between the Jets and veteran QB Josh McCown that the two sides have begun discussing the parameters of a potential agreement."

I can see this happening also .. if they are using McCown as the bridge .. spreading out those coveted reps out thin is a mistake. Especially if the QB we draft has more upside than Petty and I will bet the farm that we WILL draft a QB in the later rounds .. I can see us drafting Peterman as early as the 3rd. He comes from a pro-style offense and has experience playing in Jersey-like weather conditions. Mac has stated more than once in his belief of drafting a QB yearly. With QB's being like real estate if they show value .. it's a smart move.

That's basically the vibe im getting around here...Don't sign anyone in free agency and trust management to draft an entire team...Management isn't capable of drafting one good starter let alone an entire team.

I fully agree with the idea of drafting a QB every year until you hit. It's a crapshoot. 4 QBs is not out of the question again.
