Not yet, anyway. There is nothing more definite to be found than there was Monday when he "was expected to sign" with the Ravens.
Exactly, what good does a 1 year prove it deal do for a team with no hope for that one year. Great, he'll probably have a great year, get a key int in December that helps us win a meaningless game and then bolt the following offseason.
Really!? Oh man... What's this, fake news? Via Rappaport.... Morris Claiborne Gets 1 Year $5 Mill Deal With Jets http://www.ganggreennation.com/2017/3/17/14959890/morris-claiborne-gets-1-year-5-mill-deal-with-jets
Yeah, really! Ian Rapoport tweets about an unnamed source - you're in, hook, line and sinker. Who's his source? Could it be Schecter? After all, he's yesterday's nothing-solid guy. How is your cut-and-paste any more reliable than this one?: http://thebaltimorewire.com/2017/03/13/baltimore-ravens-expected-sign-claiborne/
Does it ever dawn on you guys that in negotiations there are two sides that need to reach a compromise. No way in hell he would have signed that for two years. He wants to show what he can do and if he has a stellar year he wants to get paid for it. And if he does perform, he should. So the Jets have an option to make him a long term Jet or not, depending on how he does and on who we draft. Pretty fucking good I'll say. This deal is pretty clever, and if he only plays half the games at the level he did last year, it would be one hell of an improvement and bargain over Revis.
Says who? Not the NFL, not Claiborne and not the Jets. Don't you think if it was a done deal somebody would say it without all the disclaimers?
Even though Claiborne is now undeniably a Jet, they still need to kick tires on fringe FAs and consider CBs in the top half of the draft, his injury history all but guarantees that he's a rental.
Right smack in the middle of the tweet you posted! "source said." Did you miss that? Why do you think that was added to the tweet? So we're a full day into this and the thread title is still untrue and guys like you are jumping all over themselves. Once again, a deal with Claiborne is possible but the language being used is the same that was used Monday when he "signed" with Baltimore but then didn't want to take only five million. What are the Jets offering again?
We retain his rights and can franchise him (lol) or a give him a lower tender I think? Regardless if he has a good year and likes it here we can probably have the fast track to working out a long term deal maybe even during the season I don't mind this signing even though you're not really wrong
Yeah, okay dude. 'Guys like me', like a give a flying fuck over this, lol. Now you're starting to make shit up. I think you're pulling your pud over this thing. Believe whatever you want to, have at it. Keep it real bro
Must be a boring day when a thread consists of arguing over whether or not we actually signed this guy.........
Odds are pretty good. It's been reported by the two most active guys Rappaport and Schefter, and picked everywhere up to a couple of hours ago. You on the other hand want to give credence to an obscure report from four days ago from some wannabe in Baltimore, and also declare that there's all these 'disclaimers' everywhere. I'll tell you what, if he's not injured, and they're probably doing a physical and medical background, he'll be a Jet....... and I'll bet you on it.
