I can agree with this. He's getting to the point in his career that $ starts becoming a big deal. He said in an interview with Adam Schefter a month ago that he just wants to go somewhere he would be respected. If he feels like the Patriots are in some way "disrepecting" him by not ponying up the money he thinks he deserves then maybe he does come to the Jets. Still believe he is a Pat come tonight though.
He was the most dominant player on that defense in 2010, after being drafted by the team in 2007. He was the number one rated ILB, I don't know what other teams were offering him but I think it was a matter of keeping a player that was homegrown as opposed to signing a FA. I don't think DH is the number one rated ILB in the NFL. Lawrence was when he was signed.
