"Beachum, 27, signed a one-year deal with a four-year option with the Jaguars last March and earned $5 million in 2016. Had the Jaguars picked up the option, Beachum would have had his $7.5 million base salary in 2017 and $5.5 million of his $8.5 million base salary in 2018 guaranteed." Read that in Cimini's article regarding the contract he signed in 2016 ... once I saw that I wouldn't be surprised if we got him at 3 years 20 mil with 13 guaranteed
Guessing 5yrs 60 and 22 guaranteed. Hope I am way over. edit after seeing above really really hope I'm over
Not picking up his option was not the popular opinion. http://blackandteal.com/2017/02/03/kelvin-beachum-jacksonville-jaguars-pick-option/ http://www.firstcoastnews.com/sport...ption-should-the-jaguars-pick-it-up/381989541 Especially with the fans. https://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/22154-jags-approaching-beachums-contract-deadline/
Add the guaranteed 2018 and the 7.5 2017. 13 mill is why they didn't pick it up. He was coming off an ACL when he signed that, should be 100% now. Remember Revis with the Bucs then the next year back to the island. It takes a while to come back from knee injuries.
Well at least found one team we could steal talent from. Honestly, I am a Trail Blazer fan and the Jaguars seem like the NFL equivalent. Is this guy any good?
I think it is a prove it deal .. media reports are also coming in as a low risk .. high reward signing. A little depth for that ass .. seems he can also play guard. Good pick up.
These are the types of free agent signings we should expect. Guys still in their 20's who flashed playing at a high level but had setbacks due to injury. If Beachum can pick up where he left off with the Steelers, it will be a good signing. Mac did this with Clady last year, hopefully it will work better this time.
Thank God! I was worried that Martin&theJets would be playing LT for us next year. 2 whole days of free agency to sign a LT. Fire Macc!!!
Beachem has been on 3 diffrent teams now 3 years in a row..He had a bad ACL injury and was a massive dissapointment for the Jaguars. He is a liability at Left Tackle.
Are you kidding me? Seriously? Look back at my previous post, nobody in Jacksonville wanted to not pick up the option at 13 Mill. He was coming off major knee surgery and got better as the year went on. Do some research before posting please. Jesus, the biggest problem with this fan base is the people wanna take every roster move like a 14" dick in the ass. He was one of the top rated guys in FA and one of the few options we had. Wtf did you want us to do?? Guess you wanted to ride with what we had.
Bro, we didn't sign an all pro on day one. Macc is a terrible GM and should be fired for ignoring the position that long.
Haha, geez. Got a little caught up in it I guess. I just get irritated when people s*&t on every move with no logical alternative.
