Kurt, you are spot on. With the current market and the needs of our team that is the best place to start, the free agent LT market is horrible so why invest in it. With a few additions to the secondary the defense might be half good again. Our secondary last year was a sive, just watching the effort and technique was terrible. We get Boye and Jefferson and draft another DB this secondary will be way different

Why invest in the FA LT market? Because imo the Jets have no other choice!!!! Ijalana is not a starting quality LT. Unless the Jets can somehow manage to get Ramczyk or Bolles, there isn't a starting LT in the draft, either, and even with those two, they possibly would only start because they aren't as bad as Ijalana. They're simply the best in a bad draft for LTs. Both have some potential, but not very high ceilings imo.

Thus, if the Jets don't sign a FA LT, they better sign or draft 3-4 QBs to add to Petty and Hack because they'll use them all up during the season.

Jefferson is signing with the Ravens. I guess he wasn't interested in playing for Bowles again. LOL

This should absolutely enrage EVERYONE. This is what our god damn team has come to...respectable free agents simply avoiding here at all costs. This is my last straw....I think I'm done. If money & cap space isn't even an equalizer for this team than they really stand no shot. Jet fans deserve better than this...Jet fans deserve better than aot of crap that goes on with this absolute SHIT SHOW. Fire them all including the owner!

I think you're overreacting. We're rebuilding, everybody knows it, he wanted to go to a team that can win now. Simple.

I hope to Christ our FO ignores fans and stick with a true rebuild.

  10. It's not about the player...I don't think he's that good.

It's the perception. Players do not want to come here even if it means more money. It's 2004-2005 Antoine Winfield all over again! It's so hurtful & embarrassing I dont even know where to begin

You sure? Just last year Matt Forte reportedly chose the Jets over others. It's about where we are now. We're not contending, don't expect to be a preferred destination at this time. We need to build thru the draft.

We didn't offer him more. He misspoke. Calm down. Or actually just leave the fan base. You're annoying and literally no one will care.

This story is BS anyway. The deals were structured different, Macc probably wanted to give him 1.5 more a year but only on a 2 deal structured so he could cut him after 2 like normal. Of course he would say that to make the Ravens fans happy.

    Nevermind...Not gonna go there

I overreacted...was overemotional...and likely a tad irrational. It happens when you root for this team.

I wouldn't expect the fan base to care if I left...I don't take myself that seriously..

I'm sorry you do not like my opinion & find me annoying you arent the first & wont be the last. I'd encourage you to utilize the "ignore" feature..rather than outright insult me.That said I mean no harm & simply wanna talk about the team I love w. people as passionate as I am. I am grateful this web site provides me that avenue.

I respect your opinion & hope we can co-exist moving forward..and if not..there's always "Ignore"

Don't feel bad. He also turned down the Browns higher offer.

  17. That actually made me feel worse. We're being lumped in w. the Brownies!

  18. You're absolutely right. I lost my cool. I've since edited my post. I overreacted & let an insult get under my skin. I apologize..not for my opinions or me being annoying..but for my initial response..which was in poor taste.

No we're not being lumped in with the Browns. We are rated well below Cleveland now. Lol.
Give it another decade. It takes about 45 years of being a Jet fan before the pain actually starts to become bearable.
Cheer up. This time we may actually be rebuilding instead of trying to win now and tearing it down again in 2 years. It's going to hurt the next couple of seasons but should be worth it.
