Wow, first Deadpool...Now Old Man Logan. This is the perfect sendoff for Wolverine/Hugh Jackman Damn the trailer had Hurt by Cash too...So good, I hope this is great
Great movie overall. Nice sendoff for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart too. Theatre was packed. Marvel knows how to both end a franchise and resurrect it at the same time. No spoilers but this isn't the last of the X-men by any stretch. Just the end of the old guard. Marvel should have done this with FF and Spiderman. Two franchises that should be mothballed for the foreseeable future. Up Next? King Kong starring America's only angry black man not in custody... Sam L. Jackson!
The only thing that would have made this better for me is if they somehow put sabertooth in instead of x-24.
This movie has been on my mind for over a week...Seen it twice, will admit I got a bit emotional. Very well made and amazingly acted. I swear Patrick Stewart and Hugh gave career best performances in a freaking super hero film.
Fact: Marvel secretly tried to trade for Silver Surfer and Galactus rights...Fantastic Four has been butchered so badly by Fox that its comical now but Marvel sees some serious value in the original gangster Galactus and the herald. Unfortunately the trade fell apart. Fox sucks and has simply gotten lucky because of Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool which has led to creative freedom to make a hard R Wolverine.
@Cman60 The Wolverine was great for 2/3rd of the movie...It fell apart when they made that old Japanese man into Optmius Prime from Transformers.
The Samurai bit just really ruined an otherwise ok movie. Best part was the fight scene on top of the Bullet train. Looks to me at the end of "Logan", that Marvel has cued up an entirely new generation of battle tested mutant kids to take over both sides of the Xmen universe. I was waiting for those kids to get into the battle as Wolverine and Wolverette were doing all the heavy lifting. Once they teamed up, they were far more formidable.. Next Gen Xmen? Marvel genius!!
Maybe I am just sad that it is the end for Jackman, but I left the theater disappointed. I did not expect that ending either so that could be part of it. I liked The Wolverine. As @Poeman said, 2/3 of that movie is really good. This was the best solo Wolverine movie for sure. I wouldn't call it a superhero movie at all though. It barely resembles an X-Men movie except for a few moments. I give Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman props for great performances.
