It's the waning of the Brady Era. Kraft and Belichik want another ring before Brady goes. Expect them to sign a high-priced FA here and there the next couple of seasons to support that. Gilmore is a 27 year old CB (9/19/90) whose contract will tie him to the Pats for 3 years at a guess. Those 3 years represent the end of the Brady era.
of course they want to win, but we are more then 1 off season away from being competitive. bring is in middle tier guys this off season, draft well, develop hackenburg and shoot for 2018 when we can splurge and land some top guys but who wants him? den and hou are fighting over romo. 9ers want cousins and signed hoyer. that leaves cutler with jets or cleveland. none of which are going to win anything this year. so it's either retire of play for a looser. he doesn't have much of a choice
which is why we shouldn't want him either. He's not terrible and will probably win us 6 or 7 games a year if healthy. That is the worst place to be in the NFL unless we nail our drafts, which I'm not holding my breath on.
pats wont sign anyone high priced. as it is they dealt collins so they wouldnt have to pay him and now wont pay hightower and couldnt reach a deal with butler and had to tender him.
Apparently they signed Gilmore at a premium. Not a top of the market deal but a just floating underneath that arrangement.
Denver is trying to trade us Siemian..much better if they get Romo and go through with it. Or they were 20 minutes ago, now Mortensen says there is some backpedaling on it..not sure on whose part and why.
we aren't sitting pretty at 6. the thing with the draft is a higher pick isn't always better. it really depends on the prospects and the GM. the pats never get high picks but look how good they draft and look how many high pick busts we've had
if we give up a 6th or 7th rounder i wouldn't mind it, but it's clear he isn't the "future" of the franchise. he's a stop gap
Beggars cant be choosers..... and he wasn't terrible...... he wasn't great by and means, but he was way better than anything we had last year
Say what? You want to give Bowles an extension because you claim "the state of the roster" was weaker in 2016 than 2015? Other objections aside, whose fault is it for PLAYING all those mutts during the game--BOWLES. Any coach with a brain would have sat Fitzpatrick after pick number five in Kansas City for the rest of the year AND sat or deactivated Revis after week 4 when he basically quit trying to tackle or cover anyone. Your argument for giving toilet bowl an extension makes as much sense as giving one to revis and fitzpatrick (who probably wondered themselves why Bowles never benched them).
Nope go back and read what I said on the Bowles extension criteria Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
i think it's terrible value but we aren't in a great situation leverage wise cle is out of the QB hunt. texans traded oswieler to them
